Last year, Kyle put up 7.0APG at 29.9% AST% compared to DeMar's 4.8APG at 20.6% AST%

I'd rather see him lead the team in 3pt FG%.

Dreamer.

He's never had a decent 3pt% let alone a near team leading one. Lets keep it as simple as possible for Demar and let him pass more.

How doable is this? Kyle hovers around 7, DeMar 4. But, Kyle has vowed to shoot 10 3s a game. DeMar is committed to improving his APG. Kyle shooting more and maybe passing less with DeMar shooting less and passing more might put DeMar around 5.5 and Kyle around 6, I think. It's really hard for taller players to rack up assists, Jimmy Butler and Giannis were bother around 5.5. Batum a little closer to 6. And then there's LeBron, Harden and Green at a different level altogether.

Derozan could have easily averaged 5-6 ast/game last year if our brick tossers could stick more open shots (PPat, Carroll, Cojo).

What the Raptors could use is Derozan passing more and hitting 3 pointers.

It’s also on how Derozan gets the ball to the shooters. Lebron studies where Korver likes the ball , for example. Derozan just can’t throw the ball just to anyone and expect it to go in. How the shooter gets the ball greatly affects how the shooter will score.

He can try to do what Chris Paul does. Pound the air out the ball and pass with 2 seconds left on the shot clock. Westbrick did that last year to pad his assist count on a lotof nights.

Hockey assists > assists.

lol no, that's not close to true. The Raptors shooting 45% on 3's from DD passes (instead of 35.8%) would have gotten him 35 more assists.

Admirable, but Jonas after going through his summer training arc will lead the team in assists this year ;)

The only way for that to happen is for him to take significant ballhandling duties away from Kyle, and I don't see how that would be anywhere close to a good thing. How about we go 3 games without him dribbling the ball off his own leg before making him the primary playmaker?

Well then you’re talking about 50% from PP, 49% from Carroll and 51% from CoJo (2PT %). How much higher are you really expecting?

I see Demar @ 3.8 APG last year.

Actually, 3.8 ranks high for SGs. Just using ESPN and eyeballing it, the only 2 dudes I see ahead of him at his position are Harden and Batum.

Maybe it's a bit of a false narrative to label him an iso black hole.

Don't see him topping Kyle though.

I'd be ecstatic if he does. if he gets a respectable corner 3 going every game, then people would at least think twice about leaving him alone for a second.

Hmmm. A wide open corner 3 from Scola who can actually do that or a contested forced brick.
