To be fair, a Raptors/Warriors final would be a complete embarrassment for the league (the Raptors would get swept by a margin of >20 ppg).

If they want to re-seed from 1-16 , then they should probably balance the schedule too between the conferences. would definitely make travel more difficult.. but I just think it would create meaningful series and more accurately account for the seeds

What? Naw man, that is about as entertaining as before. It only gets exciting when 1,2,3,5,6,7,8, and 13 advance and give us a super entertaining and meaningful (for a change) second round.

This 100% about making sure we don't walk into the finals when LeBron leaves Cle. That would be taking one of two spots out of his reach.

They have no bench and we can score as well as anyone. Our defense isn't worse than any other teams either. How is it that we would be an embarrassment? They would have everything to lose, and we have destiny on our side. ; )

They'll make this change when Lebron starts declining and becomes washed up like Wade

We've played them twice and lost by 5 and 2.

I love how the conspiracy theories pop up based on current conditions when this is something that has been discussed for several years.

And it has nothing to do with LeBron going west. It started because of how tough the West was and LeBron's dominance of the East.

And personally, I think it's a big mistake for the league to give up Conference Championships unless it's really giving up conferences.
The absurd mystery of the strange forces of existence.

Travel would be awful. And playoffs would have to be extended to allow for appropriate rest.

Lol, have you forgotten how many days off they give teams now between playoff games just so they can have weekend matchups to maximize ratings?

They get 3 days off most times. I think they can absorb an extra couple of hours on a charter when game 2 is on a Tuesday and and game 3 is on a saturday which happened often last year.

Yeah, these are some sweet matchups. Getting sick of the same old wizards, pacers, bucks merry-go-round that we have now.

Let’s say the higher seeds win, what would round 2 would be?
I think it’s:
Rockets vs Spurs
Warriors vs Thunder
Raptors vs Timberwolves
Celtics vs Cavs

Now let’s say higher seeds win again except Celtics vs Cavs, what would round 3 be?
Rockets vs Cavs
Warriors vs Raptors

So the raptors would face Pacers, Timberwolves, Warriors, Rockets/Cavs instead of Heat, Wizards, Cavs, Warriors

If the Raptors win the East they'll "re-seed" the Finals so the Warriors just play the Rockets again. NBA issues apology

More people need to just sit back and enjoy the ride...the Warriors are one of the best NBA teams of all time. Just the Raptors being in the finals against them would be amazing. Who knows if the Raptors pull off a miracle.

What a **** of a plan. So stupid if anything he should say no team in either conference gets in with a losing record like in the eastern conference the last few years. If a losing team has a playoff seed then the western team left out of the playoffs or vice versa gets in. Stupid changing the conferences making them irrelevant

Oh no what will we do if the conferences become irrelevant? We may never get to see the Pacers/Hawks/Raptors get to go against whatever team LeBron is on for the vaunted Eastern Conference Championship.

Rivalries have become player VS player much more so than team VS team. You don't think it would be cool as hell for Jamal Murray or Wiggins to come to Toronto for a playoff series? What, are you sad we wouldn't get to play the Wizards or Pacers?

Top 6 in each conference then the next 4 based on record.

TV schedules would be hilarious

West coast teams playing at 5 PM local time against big draws from the east, east coast teams playing at 9 PM local time against the west like they do in the finals.

NBA should just add a one-team Raptors Conference that is automatically disqualifed from the Finals. Then they'd have no reason to change the playoff seedings format.

If Lebron and Curry can pick their allstar team, they might as well let the top playoff seeds pick their opponents. And make the selection live lol
