Why we should be rooting for Detroit
At the moment, seeds 5-8 in the Eastern Conference are separated by 3.5 games. Detroit is in 9th, two games out of a playoff spot, followed by Charlotte, who are six games out and unlikely to mount a real playoff charge.
That leaves the Pistons as the one team that can mean the difference between five teams fighting it out to not wind up in 9th vs. four teams preparing for the postseason.
The longer the battle for 8th grade on, the better it is for the Raptors. And if those guys can stay close to Cleveland, putting pressure on them, that's even better.

The absurd mystery of the strange forces of existence.

I feel like they need Reggie Jackson to get into the post-season. They had a nice 5 game streak when Griffin joined but since then everything has fell apart.
Personally I'm rooting for Philly to finish in the top 6 so they play the Celtics/Cavs. They're better than what their record shows; Embiid's missed 11 games and Belinelli is a huge addition. They also have one of the easiest remaining schedules in the league so its not even wishful thinking.

Detroit would be fun given it would be like a subway series (Ambasssror Bridge series?) and the inevitable JV-Drummond scuffle.

Sadly they jacked up their prices for the new arena. Expect lots of unsold tickets this year.

Re: Why we should be rooting for Detroit
Detroit should make a strong push but I still see them falling short to Miami. I have the final standings as this:
TOR
BOS
CLE
PHI
MIL
IND
WAS
MIA
This works out kinda well for us. Miami in the 1st round should be the easiest matchup. 2nd round would have us facing the winner of a dogfight between Philly and Milwaukee. Third round would have us facing the survivor of BOS/WAS and CLE.

For real? I thought tickets were still cheap considering all the empty seats.

Quite a dog fight going on. Was/Mil/Phi all will be playing well down the stretch, starting to hit their ceiling. Pacers are garbage and should fall down to 7-8
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars
Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid
There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

You should be cheering for detroit because they're the easiest team for us to potentially face in the 1st rd. Im thinking a sweep

It's going to be tough for Washington. They have an incredibly difficult schedule down the stretch including 7 back to backs with 19 of their remaining 25 games against playoff/near-playoff teams. And, they aren't expecting Wall back until mid-March.

I don’t have numbers but when I looked prices weren’t all that different from Toronto, at least for lower bowl. Pistons fans have been complaining about it.

I was just at a Detroit game ..7 rows up for $40 USD...... mind you it was vs jazz and it was second hand on stub hub but same seats would be well over $200 cad on stub hub in Toronto.
I think they just went up a bit from going from auburn to downtown but that doesn't mean your paying the arm + leg prices of Toronto. I'm rooting for Detroit to snag that 8th spot so bad. Tickets will be better priced than Toronto easily and it will alot of fun to take over Detroit.

Cheer for Philly to keep winning games, they're 7th.
Detroit/Miami aren't an issue at all.

It shouldn't matter who we face at 8. If we're a legitimate threat for anything, we should win the first round in 5 maybe 6 games.
