He’s either staying or stepping down as a “mutual” agreement.

Well they haven't fired him yet and he's the coach so he should speak.
No decision has been made to fire him but he's clearly on the hot seat internally. I wouldn't expect any decision for at least a week or two and in that case Casey has to address the media today. Nothing to be shook by here.

If casey stays this organization has problems. Either masai is an idiot or MLSE blocked it. Tannenbaum is notorious for wanting to keep people around because of his good relationship with them. TL had to fight him to get rid of BC and even then BC still got to stay on the business side

Ya'll need to chill tf out. If Casey is staying, it may not be as a coach, or alternatively if he is indeed staying as a coach, Masai has moves in mind with the roster.
He's not stupid, he knows something's wrong here after we got swept by the fkn Cavs after the Pacers took em to 7. As far as what his game plan is, we'll find out over the summer. But you guys panicking sound like a bunch of girls overthinking. Chill.

carlisle and dumars sat together when they let him go for larry brown.
but i agree, the chances of him being removed are like 1%. but you never know. ujiri runs a professional organization. it would be a mutual parting and casey's stock as a coach rose here and he can go to alot of places he wants and can get paid quite nicely.

Clear sign that our Andy Reid is coming back to coach next year.

Casey will get a chance to speak and any coaching decision will not be made this week. They'll take at least a few weeks to - dare I say - evaluate. If they do decide to fire him then they will also want to due their due diligence and interview some external candidates and decide whether to promote internally or hire externally.

Why wouldn't he speak?
Even if they replace him as the head coach, they are going to want an amicable separation.
Not all divorces involve one partner throwing the other partner's stuff out the window. Sometimes it's just two people deciding to go their separate ways. And sometimes, it's not even that one partner or the other is to blame. Sometimes it's the relationship itself that is the issue.
That is how I would encourage Raptors fans to think about this, if it happens.

From what i've read the decision should be made in the coming days so casey has a chance to interview for other open jobs

If Casey stays, I expect at least one of the starters to be off the team come October. ONE major change is coming, whether that's in the form of coaching or player personnel.

Keep the winning culture going. Americas would love nothing more than to see us flame out for another 15 years. Winning championships is a stress that belongs to those who hold the elite talent that should win it all. Our game is to be a winning franchise that puts up 60 win seasons regularly. We can start thinking about building anew when the big contracts expire. Just keep on trucking with the winning please. There isn't a coach to make these guys be who they are not.

exactly. Masai shouldn't get wrecked if Casey doesn't get fired. He can try to push for it but the stupid board enjoys the status quo.
