Could add Kawhi to that package and they would still tell you to **** off.

Because it is a terrible trade where they give up AD who is under control for 3 years and on the cusp of being an MVP candidate. They still have time to try and find a roster that clicks before he becomes a free agent. They need an all-star swingman to go with him and Holiday. It's going to be tough with the assets they have though.

Ugh Masai needs to find to find a way to trade for the Brow, even if it means gutting this team.
AD + Kawhi would dominate the east for the next decade.

Too bad it just won't happen. AD is more valuable to the Pelicans than any package we could possibly make.

Still would like to add Bazemore, Dedmon and Simmons while sending out Green, Powell, Wright and Miles.

We could also use some more help at the 4.

Why Green?

Deng
First
Josh hart

for

Vuc

Makes sense for both teams. Orlando get a young player with upside and a late first for an expiring veteran who wont play. Deng will be expiring next year. Lakers shore up C spot and open up a ton more space for 2019.

Anyone get the sense that if JV puts up 16/10 numbers this year, his trade value will be high enough to nab someone like Butler at the deadline (obviously have to include more)?

Yes but I think we could get Butler now for JV and more.

Suns trade - (Chandler, TJ Warren, Chriss) receive - (Ibaka, Delon)

Atlanta trade - (Bazemore) receive - (Norm, TJ Warren, (protection on Raptors 2019 pick))

Minnesota trade - (Butler, Taj) receive - (Bazemore, Miles, Chriss, Raptors 2021 pick protected)

Raptors trade - (Ibaka, Delon, Miles, Norm, 2019, 2021) recieve - (Butler, Chandler, Taj)

Jonas / Chandler / Monroe
Pascal / Taj
Kawhi / OG
Butler / Green
Lowry / FVV

Chandler 13m, Taj 14m, Kawhi 20m, Butler 20m, Green 10m = 77m expiring

Both picks are lotto protected if niether Butler or Kawhi stay, Pascal & OG remain heading into a potential rebuild.

Raptors round out their depth with 2 solid veterans with experience, toughness & defense.

If Kawhi & Butler can be retained having 77m coming off the books would give financial flexibility.

Why would the Wolves do that?
And why is Bazemore being so overrated?
Suns are going to give up Warren while receiving Ibaka?
Hawks are walking away with murder.
Raps aren’t getting Butler for that pile of crap.
Wolves should be the ones acquiring Warren if they’re trading Butler.

Sorry but I’m not feeling this at all.

Why would the Wolves do that?

I'm catering to Thibs defensive preference, people don't hold the same perceptions of value. Bazemore is coming at the cost of Warren, young filler & a pick. SG over SF where Wiggins has already tied up large long term salary. (Warren is 11m/4yrs at SF).

And why is Bazemore being so overrated?

Is he over-rated? it all depends on what a team values in a player & perception of value.

Suns are going to give up Warren while receiving Ibaka?

They're getting Delon as well who would start at PG for them for a player that will potentially fall out their rotation with their new wing additions. (Ariza/Bridges)

Hawks are walking away with murder.

Norms salary got dumped with Warren mid-late pick for Bazemore.

Raps aren’t getting Butler for that pile of crap. Wolves should be the ones acquiring Warren if they’re trading Butler.

Besides the before mentioned position & salary implications, I think you're underestimating Bazemore's value along with Chriss & a future 2021 pick for a rental. IMO, Bazemore would have more value to them as a young defensive SG with control than if I conveyed the 2019 pick & took Atlanta out the deal.

Butler isn't getting traded right now, can we stop wasting posts on him. Revisit him come January and check where the twolves(and raptors) are standing/narrative wise.

I don't think Bazemore is overrated. Is he overpaid? Absolutely. But if we're getting rid of Powell and/or Ibaka in the process, I'm not sure how anyone could complain.

That said, I'm not a fan of the deal above. I don't want to move anymore picks. I know we love Leonard but we still have no idea whether or not he's staying. It's best for the franchise to proceed with a rebuild in mind.

Unless we're getting a talent(s) that aren't going to cost us picks and young guys (except Delon).

I’m not complaining. But you aren’t getting Butler for that and we’re not the ones acquiring Bazemore in that deal. It’s an unreasonable trade.

He'll get traded by trade deadline for JV+Siakam+fillers when JV is averaging 18/10.

The picks are protected. The only way they will be conveyed is if Kawhi & or Butler stays.

The 2019 pick is used to move Norm with Warren for Bazemore, Raptors get out of that commitment as his money is funneled into Butlers 20m contract through the acquisition of Bazemore.

The 2021 pick is also lottery protected so the only way it would get conveyed to Minnesota is if the Raptors are good enough to not be tanking.
