So much of our bloody media has put such a negative spin on this harping on the "loyalty" to DeMar and also not keeping up to date with information and repeating how he wants to go to LA and doesn't want to be here....that's all I heard on both FM and AM radio stations this past week.

BUT this crowd absolutely SHOULD be roaring and I hope MLSE/Raptors management starts putting some marketing dollars to build on the excitement a massive acquisition like this deserves. It sounds like Kawhi wants to start to feel some of the recognition other stars on his level do...throw his brand all over the building and getting the fans hype behind him so he can feel the rush of an entire nation behind him, I really think something like that can start opening him up as opposed to our media now that almost feels like they're trying the turn the fans on him before he even arrives smdh.

It's one of the reasons I am so frustrated with the way DD has handled this exit - it really poisons the well and puts the franchise on the back foot. I think MLSE (and MasaI) want to give it more time, plus it's not clear how much of a spotlight Kawhi actually wants versus just wanting more brand reach. I think step A should actually be getting Drake to earn is **** keep for once and reach out to Kawhi.

The picture was a good start but we need more.

Our fan base is filled with so many casuals (it's sad but true). Like some have expressed, I hope there are no stupid boos. These morons have no idea who we just acquired, and some of the comments I've seen (and the likes/favourites) prove that. For example, "Derozan is a top 10 player, Kawhi hasn't been good since the injury, he's probably a top 20 player!" I think you'll hear cheering mostly, it will drown out any potential moron booing in the crowd.

Any fans who boo should be identified, taken to a back room and beaten, casino style.

Kyle should offer to let Kawhi be announced last. It would be so anti-climatic if he were announced any earlier. Again, everything we do should be to show him that he is our main focus. We need him to re-sign.

I’d do Green, OG, JV, Kawhi, Lowry unless Kyle says otherwise.

I already plan to have a Kawhi for MVP poster with me and yelling it non stop the moment he steps onto the free throw line for the first time!

Nah. I had very little excitement for the Raptors last offseason because we knew what the team was, very good regular season team, bad in the playoffs. This year we have definitely raised our ceiling but also lowered our floor (if Kawhi doesn't play). That variance inherently makes the team more exciting to watch.

I know some of you aren't Leaf fans. But seeing Tavares in a Leaf jersey and Kawhi in a Raps jerseys in both the season openings is gonna be surreal AF to me.

Especially how my Raps fandom really took a hit watching the boys get blown out by Lebron and co again before the trade.

I hope the Raptors bar the media from gaining any access this year.

Apples to Bananas.
Demar's return will be loud for sure though, and rightfully so.
There will be standing ovations and tribute vids and all that jazz.
What scares me is that all this Kawhi and Demar subjects are taking away chances for Vince to come back and retire properly.
If they use that "distraction" excuse again... I'll be so mad.
