they really don't.

If both 100% healthy

KI and KLow about a wash because of KLow Def.
J Brown slightly over Danny G and he is swinging up on his career where Danny Flat at best. Jaylen can do more things.
Klaw way better than Gordon H but it will be closer when he is back healthy. KL is far ahead of him on Rehab.
J Tatum way better than Pascal. Jayson is looking to average 20/10 this year and had a better playoff run then any and all raptors last year except KLow. Even if you put OG there ( and I think both the raps are good to very good, Jayson is a star headed to all star this year over both our guys)
Al Horford better than either of JV or SI for consistently and both sides of ball.

Raps 9+6+10+7+7= 39 Bos 9+7+8+9+8 = 41 It is close. One note most basketball heads would say KI better than KLow but, we know they both provide about the same value if healthy.

The biggest distinction is that we have a superstar. No one on Boston's roster comes close to Kawhi's impact. In basketball, due to there only being 5 players on the floor, and the ability of one player to play >75% of a game, the team with a superstar can often overcome teams with more overall talent.

Metal toughness backed up by hard work > gifted talent, look at VC and TMac who were top 3 in talent but never took the next step during playoffs pressure.

or maybe we can attach some more rigorous numbers to those players.

Like, say RPM.

We can look at last 2yrs:

Kawhi 6.13 --- Hayward 3.00
Kyle 5.48 ----- Tatum 2.92
Green 0.63 --- Horford 2.88
Ibaka 0.62 ---- Irving 2.20
Siakam -0.58 - Brown -1.13

TOR: 12.28 ---- BOS 9.87

Fred 1.76 ----- Smart 0.84
Delon 1.10 ---- Baynes 0.52
OG 0.59 ------- Theis 0.38
Jonas 0.49 ---- Rozier 0.15
Miles 0.01 ---- Morris -0.44

TOR: 3.95 ----- BOS 1.45

TOR 16.23 ----- BOS 11.32

navbhatiasuperfanContrary to popular belief I don't trash talk any of the opposing team. I remind them before the game you aren't battling just the guys on the court and the bench you're battling 19,800 of us.
I think that shakes them up enough. Let's go @raptors #superfan #navbhatia #wethenorth #raptorsambassador #nba #nbacanada #nbaindia #basketball

no team has ever won a championship without an MVP calibre player, which the celtics most certainly do not have. which means they are missing the single biggest part of what a "conventional contender" needs.

the term "all-stars" is also a very nebulous one - the celts have a number of fringe all-stars, guys in the 20-30 range in the league, not guys who deserve 1st or 2nd or 3rd team all-nba status.

Pistons did it against the Lakers who had 2 MVP calibre players...

You are crazy - horford is great and fits any team
He's 32 years of age though.

Morris is right, Raps not on the same level as Celtics confirmed.

But they still the better team. LOL

Game results don't matter as long as they believe it in their heads. I'm sure the Morris twins' mommy always told them they were special...

All that "talent" and their offense has been ****ing horrible. Stevens coaches a good defense but gives too much leeway to guys who are way over their heads as offensive players. One of whom this thread is based off of

Nav Bhatia thinks this is the first time these guys have played in a crowd that wasn't their home or something?

Raptors have best player by miles and depth goes to Raps who have extremely underrated bench.. Lowry is better player overall then Kyrie who is bit overrated..
