Maybe Kawhi's presence alone on the floor tightens the team up a bit? I dont know - just saying maybe they feel like they need to perform at a certain level when he's on the court - which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Maybe also a bit of players deferring to Kawhi too much. I think he could play in a share the ball offense like tonight, with fewer iso's. He played on the Spurs last championship which was the ultimate in ball movement. Things will work out here as they all get used to each other more.
Yeah but hasnt it also been mentioned somewhere that the team has purposely given him more leeway on offense to showcase his one on one abilities more than in SA? It’s obvious the the coaches are catering to him and his ISO ball to try and get him to stay. I know people will say this type of play will help in the playoffs when defenses tighten up and at crunch time. Only problem is this isn’t 10 years ago and offences are still pretty free flowing in the post season and Kawhi hasnt been very clutch in the last minute of games.
I just don’t see Kawhi ISO ball really changing anytime soon.
