For a year and a half of Davis? Absolutely.

Worst case, Kawhi leaves, and then you trade AD for picks to start a rebuild. Best case, you have a chance to win a championship in 2019, and if Kawhi stays, then another chance in 2020 before AD leaves.

Not like Siakam is a superstar you can build around, he looks like a really good player, maybe all star level best case, but AD is a top 5 player in the game. If you have a chance for a championship, you do it. This is the NBA, not MLB. The Raptors may never have this chance again.

Just rewatched 2 and a half seasons of BSG recently.

I love how so many realgm experts are matter-of-factly stating that we *HAVE* to trade Siakam to get AD. These are the same posters that said we *HAD* to trade both of Pascal & OG to get Kawhi this summer. Don't underestimate the power of Masai.

Masai will do what he prefers and that's not necessarily departing with Pascal given his growth, attitude, contract, health and trajectory. Pascal at this point is a borderline all-star in year 3 of a reasonable contract with RFA protection. AD is an often injured perennial all-star/all-NBA who has a much more expensive contract currently with no commitment beyond next season.

Is AD a better player than Pascal straight up? No question.

Is AD the final piece of the puzzle? Considering that he couldn't get his team into the playoffs in 4 of his 6 seasons despite very good surrounding talent in Jrue, Boogie/Randle, colour me a little skeptical that he's worth it at the cost of Siakam.

He got into the post season the year they had cousins. Before that jrue holiday and to an extent turkey Evans were injury prone the past few seasons.

A top 5 player who is only 1 year older than Siakam is robbery. Davis maybe the only number one overall pick in the past decade who actually lived up to the lofty expectations.

I get it you guys grew to like Siakim but this is a no brainer and he’s only one piece in this trade.

Raptors front court is already in need of depth. If Masai is going to move Pascal for an upgrade it makes more sense that it be for a big than a guard when Raptors have Kawhi, Green on the wings & a tone of depth behind them.

I think everyone loves Pascal. He might be the most universally appreciated Raptor we've had in years, but it's a superstar driven league. If you can add a generational talent, you do it.

The biggest loss with moving Pascal, to me, is his defensive impact against Giannis as well as the Warriors in general. He's one of the most mobile frontcourt defenders in the league. That said, most playoff teams simply have no answer for AD. Put him beside playoff Kawhi and I think it's a wrap.

If I was the Pelicans, I would take it to spite the Lakers, but mainly because the Raptors picks can become very valuable if they start a rebuild, which is very possible if Kawhi leaves and AD is flipped.
