Is Lowry purposely playing bad/being fat to avoid being traded?!

I swear this guy is purposely playing bad to avoid being traded. We know his family is settled here at the moment and he would hate to be traded mid season. I would not be shocked at all if he starts getting in better shape and starts playing better after the trade deadline. I mean at this point its all we can hope for because his shot falling off a cliff and him being fat has been an anchor on his trade value. He is definitely not playing like an all star.
Thoughts?

All these theories to explain away Lowry's struggles, when he's displayed these draughts consistently his entire career here.

I think being in shape and playing well would help him not get traded.

Nothing like this don't even pretend. He's been bad on offense for almost two months now.

All of 2015, parts of the 2016 playoffs, and now. And no one remembers this, but his first season with us. He played like the dynamic scorer we needed for like the first 3 games, then all that talks of Casey neutering Lowry to play more like Calderon came in.

He has no leverage with his play being bad.

He has back problems, which he didn't purposely inflict on himself. The way he plays is begging for injuries...taking charges and falling on the floor after every contested layup attempt. FVV does the same thing, he gets away with it cuz he's younger.

he is what he is. which has always been this it was just his biut of inconsistency wasnt as long but dude has fallen off a cliff. his athleticism is basically gone. he cant beat anyone and i mean anyone off the dribblem hes just an average player tbh hes old and washed mix that with declining athleticism and you get sone version of andre miller.

That season doesn't count wtf. That was the Rudy Gay era. Post Rudy he's been consistent every season. He has never been this bad for this long in a regular season.

We keep coming up with a lot of reasons to explain the fact that Lowry may just be falling off with age.

He never shot consistently especially in the playoffs. Him and Demar were the Brick Bros

Saw this on Reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/torontoraptors/comments/am3im2/lowry_before_his_back_injury_463362826_603_ts/Lowry before his back injury: .463/.362/.826 (.603 TS%).
Lowry after his back injury: .348/.277/.869 (.494 TS%)
I still think he's messed up. Even if he's declining, that's falling off a cliff in the middle of a season that was interrupted by a debilitating injury.

Yes it does, because it happened before we traded for Rudy Gay.

He's just old, fat, and broken down. He's finished as a productive, high usage player.

Oh, still doesn't count. Jose does that to every starting point guard. Post Jose Calderon he's been consistent every season. He has never been this bad for this long in a regular season.[/quote]

No Jose Calderon in 2015, played like trash and kept deferring to his inferior teammates. Same as in 2016 where his shooting was erratic. Length of time of how trash he's been doesn't even matter, because he's always slumped following a big injury, and that didn't tend to happen until later on. This is the earliest he's slumped, but pattern wise it's par for the course.

That he had. Just seems so much worse this time around. His attitude and everything else.
