Casey glory does make a lot of hot take threads, some of which come off as ridiculous but this isn't one of them. Personally I'd rather have a board where there's a couple of posters who are excessive with their topics than a completely dead board where each topic gets 3 replies a month. Have you been to the Memphis board? It's depressing, there's more Raptors fans replying than Grizzlies fans.

Lol even in a career year where’s he most likely has a higher usage than Ben he still doesn’t compare lol.

Ben is better than siakim and it’s nit even close. There isn’t a skill siakim has that Ben doesn’t possess. Both are athletic with slashing ability except bens main skill is playmaking. He’s more dynamic this is just raptor fans talking crazy.

It helps he’s also 2 years younger.

Siakim also limits them with his inability to shoot. We know she’s shooting 34% but nobody guards him

Another useless post from a TL burner.

I'd ask you to backup your claims with actual numbers, but I know I won't get a response.

Also, where did Pascal hurt you? We know you hate Kawhi because you feel he forced the trade of your favourite player. But I'm curious to know why half your posts are spent hating on Pascal. Did he forget to like a Derozan IG post or something?

Caris Levert is a pretty good player. If he didn't get injured, he would have likely been an All-star this season.

I honestly think Siakam might be better than Simmons.

I'm a big fan of a lot of guys from that draft.

In no particular order:
Siakam
LeVert
Sabonis
Murray
Simmons
Hield
Brown*
DJ Murray

*Some of these guys are overrated, others underrated, but it's hard to like Boston players especially for me. I don't know why I feel such hatred for that team, but it's undeniable!

Honestly it's depatable whether he's even Top 5 from the draft at this point depending on who you ask.

Ben Simmons, Jamal Murray, Hield, Sabonis, Brown. These players have all had better stars to their careers than Siakam, Siakam is the MIP this year though. We'll have to wait and see how their trajectories play out.

Siakim scoring 44 points in an NBA game still doesn’t compute for me, hes no longer capped at that premium role player ceiling. He can the be 3rd guy on a title team.

Depending on how you view Lowry/Gasol/Ibaka, He could be the 2nd guy on a title team!

nah.

Even career numbers:

Simmons: 22.2usg%, 56.9ts%, 20.1per, .158ws48, 4.4bpm, 7.5vorp
Siakam: 16.9usg%, 58.4ts%, 15.6per, .142ws48, 2.1bpm, 4.5vorp

Sabonis: 20.1usg%, 56.7ts%, 15.4per, .117ws48, -0.5bpm, 1.8vorp
Hield: 23.4usg%, 56.9ts%, 15.1per, .070ws48, -0.7bpm, 2.0vorp
Murray: 23.1usg%, 54.5ts%, 14.6per, .077ws48, -1.1bpm, 1.3vorp
Brown: 20.7usg%, 54.7ts%, 12.5per, .079ws48, -1.8bpm, 0.2vorp

Siakam at this point is clear cut #2 looking at their whole careers so far - and it's not even a close call.

But this year he's put himself in legit competition for #1:

Simmons: 22.2usg%, 58.7ts%, 20.2per, .152ws48, 4.1bpm, 2.9vorp, 1.8rpm
Siakam: 19.9usg%, 62.6ts%, 18.6per, .175ws48, 3.5bpm, 2.5vorp, 3.8rpm

that's neck and neck.

for now I still give the edge to Simmons due to age but it's damn close.

Your threads lack insight and knowledge. Anyone who suggests that Siakam - as good as he's been - is better than Ben Simmons should be ignored.

You also create way too many threads to produce any sort of real discussion on any of your threads. Slow down. Please.

This is where I don't bother shying with advanced stats junkies. There are so many variables and factors at play that go into those numbers.

A year ago this thread would have been absolutely ridiculous. His first two years weren't overly impressive by any means.

But hey, everyone is welcome to their opinion. I love Siakam, but he wouldn't be the first Raptor to be massively overrate by the majority of our fan base. Just saying.

the best thing about this comment is that Siakam was excellent last year by the by the eye test aside from shooting 3s, which means that the only thing you're actually referring to as unimpressive is his per game stats.....which is an even sillier statistical crutch to lean on.

and as for all those variables you believe invalidate the more comprehensive stats...i hope you realize that the rest of the names you brought up also had very limited support roles when compiling their numbers. in fact, none of them have yet to have as big a role as Siakam has had this year.

Go post this in the GB if you want unbiased opinions

There are many players with nice looking advanced stats who are mediocre at best.

Last year I wouldn't have Siakam in the Top 5. I stand by that. This year I think it's debatable.

It's okay you don't agree, everyone has their own opinion and I'm fine with that. That's what the forums are for.
