Not sure about "star"... but a stable backup PG who has carved his own lane, for sure.

Star is ridiculous.

Perennial top 5 backup point guard is more accurate.

The average person probably considers a guy making 9 million a year to play basketball a star. You just need to expand your definition of the word. They didn't say all-star.

The said Nurse gave him his chance. Or something like that.

We should probably tar and feather them.

Fred's surrogate Dad was a damn good parent. Society needs more male role models like him. Structure, discipline, accountability, stability. That's a good father. He's the real MVP.

Being a step father is truly one of the hardest and most important jobs there is. Kids in situations like Fred’s don’t want some new guy in their life living with their mom who isn’t their dad but is acting like the boss in the house. That’s hard on the kids, the mom, and the step dad who gets a lot of grief and not much reward until the kids grow up and realize more about life and gain additional respect for the situation. Props do those who take that role on seriously and truly see the kids as their own and try to make their lives better. It would be a challenge.

That was cool to watch even though they messed up his timeline with the Raptors. Fred seems like a good dude. I'm interested to see him, Lin and Gasol get some time together when he's back.

Personally, I like how the Raps have spent time making sure they pick solid, hard working human beings! Sure, they also play bouncy scorey ball good as well but in the end they are real likeable people worth supporting and cheering for. Can’t ask for much more then that as a fan.

Good stuff. I forgot he only got a 2yr deal. He'll need to keep proving em wrong.
