What's up with some of the Leafs hate on here? You know you can like the Raptors and NOT hate the Leafs at the same time right?

A lot of it, I find, is jealousy. Sportsnet, TSN and other Toronto-based mainstream media cover the Leafs, win or lose, but the Raptors get less coverage, win or lose.

Some of it has to do with the one or the other mentality of people in Toronto, generally-speaking. For example, you either had to have liked Calderon or Ford, but not both. You either had to have liked Jack or Calderon, but not both. You either liked Colangelo's European players ("Euros") or his American players, but not both. You either have to like the Maple Leafs or Raptors, but not both.

Nylander isn't all that imo, don't know what people see in him

when hes on his game, dudes a beast especially for zone entry. his contract is fine, and i know he will get better. He had a rough go at it in the reg. season but its not on him. man bounced from 3 lines and was dominant with auston.

I think we can get marner for under 10 million with a lower term. maybe 10/5 to put him alongside nylander/matthews and in 5 years time go from there.

not all fans are from toronto lol. lot of fans here prob like oilers.canucks/sens/jets/flames.

Also there will also be hate for the leafs, we are basically the knicks of the nhl. literally been terrible for decades but the media still revovles around us and we pretty much dwarf any other Canadian fanbase outside mtl.

If there is one player that you know that will show up, its Mitch Marner.

This guy will demand more than Matthews for sure, and rightfully so.

The 4th line did well, Tyler Ennis had a few decent shifts. Johnsson was impressive. Matthews finally gets a goal, he needs to do this more often as the team's top player.

i dont think he will get more, hes still a winger. i dont think theres any winger out there making over 11.5

He will liekly get close to auston money but the hope is 10 million/7. I lvoe mitch and thinks he our best at times but that line has been great bc of JT. boston top line destroyed us last year but arent doing much bc that line is doing great.e

hope we can win on weds, boston cant do much when refs call their bs.

This guy completely changes the game by himself, makes his linemates better no matter who they are, something I cant say for any of the centers in the team. Matthews is getting 11.5 correct me if Im wrong, and it seems a huge overpayment for someone who's level of play drops in the playoffs

True. But this is unprecedented. A team that finished with 128 points, 21 points more than the next best team, got swept by the wild card team that finished with 30 less points. Happy for Torts and the Blue Jackets tho!
