Remember how good our training staff is?

We rejuvenate ibaka and he could actually play his age

And as he matures his game as well hooo man, I always thoughts Ibaka's Bball iq would limit us and not allow him to be an escape valve on offense but he finished and shot well lasted year.

I thank kawhi really for elbowing Ibaka's head in the playoffs to annoint him with more Bball iq

Ibaka is looking refreshed and driven, Pascal seems inspired and looks strong af, rookies seem excited and bought in, OG is restrengthening all the muscle loss, Stanley Johnson is looking like he fixed his shot and is dead set on living up to his potential, Gasol getting some FIBA runs in, Kyle is genuinely happy and healthy- which is all you need from him, Freddy and Norm see a big opportunity before them...

I'm very excited about this upcoming season. Offensively, there's a void, but defensively, we've only loss a half step. I think we're going to shock people with a hot start like we've been doing for the last 5 years or so LOL. Contract years for are vets and make or break years for out youngish core. Gonna be a season to watch.

This is my position, except I'm not even worried about the offence. It looked fine in Kawhi's absence last season. Remember the game in Miami (with the Heat fighting for a playoff spot) when Raps tied their record for made 3s? Mr. One-Man Three-peat hit ... uh ... three of them.

Rebounding is the issue. Re-watching the playoff games on LP reminds me that Kawhi may be the best rebounder of all time, pound for pound. Think of the last few minutes of Game 2 of the Finals. Think of all the rebounds off missed FTs. With Marc and Serge at the C, that's what's going to be very hard to replace. Pascal had a reputation as a rebounder in college. Hopefully his newfound muscles will help him to get in there and come away with the ball.

It's not so much that our regular season offense will suffer with Kawhi's absence, it will be our playoff offense --- where you're playing the best defenses and they're taking away a lot of things and you need star players who can manufacture points in half court situations (under immense spotlight pressure no less). That's where Kawhi is invaluable offensively.

but you can also make a case that Pascal was tested quite well in the Finals, so there's hope.

What I want to see from Vanvleet this season is an improvement in running the PnR

He's good at using it for scoring but he really struggles w/ the playmaking aspect of it.

Idk if its because of his size or hes just not confident in attempting some of these passes but he frequently misses the roll man or just doesn't create anything good.

That's the major thing I want to see from him if hes going to be Lowry's successor.

Fred VanVleet was 58th percentile as the PnR ball handler in 2017-18, and that declined to 39th percentile in 2018-19.
