One of the biggest and most immediate, changes for Siakam will be that he will now command the opponents’ best defender every single night. Leonard drew that spotlight each time he stepped on the court last year, but Siakam will now be the primary focus of opposing teams’ game plans.

Whenever I hear people talking about how Siakam will now face the best defender on the opposing teams, I think back to Game 1 of the Finals where self-proclaimed BEST Defender of All-Time (https://www.slamonline.com/nba/me-draymond-green-says-hes-the-best-defender-ever/) Draymond Green was tasked to guard Pascal Siakam.

Shuffling your feet is not the same as "stepping into your shot". In order to step into your shot, you have to have a pivot foot established first, and then you "step into" your shot using your other foot to square your body. If you drag your pivot foot after doing this, then it's a travel.

With the way Paul George caught the ball, he established his left foot as the pivot, and he lifted it before taking the shot. It's a travel.
You're allowed to lift your pivot foot to take a shot... It just can't land before you release the ball.
Read the rule book.
It's been discussed recently on the general board. We've all been lied to as children.
It's not a travel, sorry

And what did Paul George do in this clip?

If you're insinuating he established his pivot foot when he received the pass you might need to watch the clip in slower motion.
His right foot actually became his pivot after the catch.

I dunno about footwork if its from that clip. Though, they let everything pass in the NBA nowadays. But I definitely remember doing the exact same thing as PG in that gif and getting called for a travel by a ref.

That might be the Kapono special right there.

It's a travel based on high school and NCAA though whether or not it's called probably varies. It's not a travel according to NBA and new FIBA rules.

Not based on NBA and new FIBA rules. The first step that happens AFTER catching the ball can be your pivot foot. In this case George's right foot.

Nice. Lowry’s splint is finally off. Thought I saw him still with the splint a couple of weeks ago in another pic.

I can see Rondae finishing a lot of games. I’ve always liked his game, I’m think Nurse could do a lot of fun experimental lineups. What if we used Rondae in a Ben Simmons type role?

Rondae/Lowry/OG/Pascal/Gasol

Rondae looks very weak in the paint, like physically long but can get pushed off his spot or bodied to end up putting layup off balance

He's just not very athletic.

It's interesting because each of our 3 wings (OG, Stan, RHJ) have a great strength but other weaknesses (that's a strength for another one of the guys) limit them.

OG is athletic and can shoot but doesn't have Rondae's ball handling, Stan is strong but doesn't have OG's explosive athleticism, and RHJ has the handles/play making but his athleticism is lacking.

His motor makes up for the lack of overall strength but I wouldn't characterize as him as weak necessarily. I think the Raps should experiment with him as a roll/dive man and finishing off cuts. We don't have a true roll man and his length/athleticism as a cutter should give him opportunities to finish over most players.

He streamed like 7minutes or so of the scrimmage live on his instagram. Siakam looked real good.
Unfortunately, he refuses to upload the full video. :-?
