Screw Wiggins. I lost respect for the guy when he declined to play in the 2016 Olympic qualifying tournament even though the T-Wolves missed the playoffs while Tristan Thompson suited up after winning the NBA title in game 7. Wiggins is a joke.

I listened to Ryan Saunders on the Lowe Post podcast the other day and he said Wiggins was working on his game every day and he’s been trying to get him to get into habits of knowing what’s a good shot and bad shot because that’s the way they are gonna play this season and that he believes in Wiggins. So perhaps he wants to work on getting rid of his stupid pull-ups over defender just inside the 3pt line. But my gripe with that is every single person that knows basketball has been saying that about Wiggins for the last 4 years! He’s had off seasons to work on this and now he’s deciding he should change??

Hasn't there been rumblings bouncing about for a long time that Wiggins isn't quite right up there? Like maybe a mild learning disability?

That would seem to explain a lot if it's true.

The crazy thing is even the older guys will still be around next Olympics - Cojo and TT will only be 33 by then. And Jamal will only be 27.

So lots to look forward to. I'm glad the team was able to comeback from that awful loss to Venezuala, which is still the biggest gut punch I've felt as a fan.

I would never give him an invite ever again. Guy has said NO so many times now, that it is best he is never asked again. Guy has no passion to represent Canada. Good riddance.

I still can't believe they lost that game. They were just a few seconds away to qualify for olympics. :banghead:

I've lost the last bit of respect ive had for wiggins. Man had a real chance to be the face of this new chapter of Canada basketball and basketball in this country generally.

What a waste.

Let’s stop talking about him then and move onto the starters and their primary backups:

PG: Cory Joseph (More experienced than SGA. Need a vet out there who can defend quality starting PGs.

SG: Jamal Murray. (The Star of the team if he plays)

SF: Not sure who gets the nod to start? I’d probably normally opt for Brooks here but he’s hurt. Do we go smaller and play Stauskas for the shooting and make up the rebounding with Thompson? Play Birch at SF for the defence. RJ seems too young for this but maybe we chance it?

PF: Tristan Thompson. Set screens for the guards and SF. Rebound and get extra possessions. Defend.

C: Kelly Olynyk. Shoot the 3. Pass. Score.

————————————-

PG BACKUP: SGA.
SG BACKUP: Nik Stauskas
SF BACKUP: RJ Barrett?
PF BACKUP: Trey Lyles / Powell
C BACKUP: Khem Birch (small ball?) / Chris Boucher?

A lot of you coming for Wiggins in here but what some of you have to understand is that, he has had a very successful life that only a select few can compare to. A job that is hard to come by and one that will provide for his family for multiple generations to come. Find me a video/clip/soundbite of him saying he wants to be one of the best to every do it. He is content and for him, there may be nothing wrong with that. Not everyone is built to want to be the best and are happy where they are in life. To each is own, who are we to judge?

Theres a chance the wolves organization told him not to play for Canada since they might be trading him.

It was already rumored they had a deal to offload him when they tried to go after D'lo.

And the wolves have been linked to CP3 as a potential destination by a lot of beat writers.

(Although lowe pointed out that they werent comfortable doing a wiggins for Westbrook straight up so im interested to see what the deal they had to offload wigs was/is)
