For about 5 straight years now Vince Carter has been going from random team to random team and the raptors had no interest in bringing him back. Previous years I get it, the team was focused on the championship and didn't want any distractions. But this year what is the excuse ? The team is not contending this year, might as well have something to cheer about this year. I don't get this move by Masai, clearly Vince wanted to return. BRING HIM HOME !

Because he wants to live in Atlanta .. so its difficult to commute from Toronto.

Who gives a ****? We've moved on to bigger and better things, while that guy will always be a career loser.

There is literally zero reason to sign a 43 year old Vince, outside of some weird, rose-tinted nostalgia.

People used to make fun of Ibaka by suggesting he's washed & in his 40's. But Vince IS washed and in his 40's.

Josh Lewenberg reported recently that the Raptors have previously shown interest in signing Vince Carter, but the interest was not mutual.

Which means that Vince Carter does not really want to play again for the Raptors.

Vince Carter is the anti-thesis of a competitor.

Because Masai rather give some a player who has his whole career ahead of him a chance instead of giving a spot to a guy whose career is behind him.

Masai's job is to build a team that can compete for a championship in the near future, not make fans who were eight-years-old when Vince was at his Toronto peak feel nostalgic.

I sort of think this as well - VC quit on the team and organization, propagated the idea that Toronto was not a place an NBA athlete wanted to be, forced us to trade him when his value was low, set us back years competitively... and now wants us to lessen the quality of our team for the sake of nostalgia?

We're like the nerd that got dumped in high school for the popular jock, then got rich and handsome, and now the girl wants back in. Naw lady, door's locked.
