Real question... does anyone... I mean anyone that's a Raptors fan ... think this hire is based solely on merit? Just want to see if there's even one.

Castleberry is the reason we won the chip...without his mentorship, guidance and inspiration we would never have come close.

Before this signing I had my doubts about the Clippers, but now they have a very easy path to the finals unless Castleberry gets a stroke or unforeseen illness.

Consider yourself (not you dTox) a hypocrite if you ridicule this and:

A) You didn't ridicule it to the same degree when the Raptors did the exact same thing
B) You wouldn't take a great job that you got because your friend has influence.

The thing is, if he actually has any interest in coaching, hes absolutely sabotaging his career. I guess he probably doesnt, and I guess in the long run if hes good people would hire him, but it looks really crappy on him to leave everywhere cause a player leaves

At least Kawhi is a good friend. If I was very successful and was able to help out my close friends I would too. Castleberry's salary will be pocket change to the Clippers.

*There was also an article about him about how hard he worked and the long hours he put it to get to this point so it's not all leeching off Kawhi. He has to be somewhat competent.

I really wonder about Castleberry’s relationship with the other coaches on the staff. Does he attempt to act like he’s legit. Is he treated like he’s legit? Or are they like “whatever Kwahstlebuddy, thanks for input” if he tries to get involved.

Hasn’t he essentially been Kawhi’s ballboy since high school? At least Kawhi’s rewarding him for that.

Presumably he's actually nominally qualified at his job.

And it's a loophole due to the fact he's not related to Kawhi.
