#3 maybe Vlad Guerrero Jr.

Brooke Henderson is #3. And she would win most years.

Still think

#1 Raptors
#2 Bianca
#3 Brooke
#4 Vlad Jr.

Andreescu will win many more titles, what the Raptors did was almost impossible.

Raptors made people fall in love with basketball even when we sucked. Now that we won that will make it expand even more.

If raptors are not a lock for sports story of the year it would be a travesty.

And let's be honest, US Open ain't Wimbledon.

are u kidding me dude? just before raptors started making the playoffs in 2013 there was absolutely no buzz around the team, areana was pretty empty to even super cheap tickets, TV ratings for there season opener in 2011 was 80,000 viewers. pretty positive if 1st or 2nd round exit for the raptors this year and thats it for the raptors and basketball in canada....it will be long forgotten

Raptors brought the country together, that alone puts them first.

But a 19 year old winning the US Open? And the first Canadian to do so? Over Serena Williams? Along with a 45-4 record this year. Huge story.

It should be the Raptors in a landslide, but I fear Bianca will now be the story of the year.

I'll change my mind when Bianca's parade is larger than the Raptors

Why Vlad Jr? He's doing well on a bad team so this should not even be considered except for the most ardent Jays fans.

Puckheads will be puckheads and they probably think Connor McDavid is man of the century

There was nothing Canadian about the Raptors though. None of the key personnel on the team (players, coaches, or managers) were Canadian. I think Bianca will take it for this reason.

Vlad is technically Canadian (born here), but he's going to need to accomplish a lot more before he's considered for this award. He hasn't even been the Jays best call-up this year (Bichette has outplayed him).

Larry Tanenbaum isn't Canadian?

Bianca winning just reminded everyone of the Raptors title again. Almost every article I've seen also mentions the Raps or #SheTheNorth. They also mentioned the Raps multiple times on the ESPN broadcast

We're just debating media profile. And in that regard the most important thing to note about Bianca's win is how the news is reporting it - e.g., "She the North."

There's no better proof than that for the profound Canada wide impact of the Raptors' title run than the fact that the team's own branding is literally synonymous with success by Canadians in sports.

Along with Wimbledon, U.S Open is the biggest tournament in tennis.

Similar to winning the Masters in golf.

Raps is #1 and it's not even close.

2 long months of playoffs...nail biters... the whole country banding together. huge party when we won. biggest parade in nba history

Yeah no chance for Bianca or anyone else.

But Bianca would be #2 for me.

Raptors will be #1, dont care for the "Canadian" semantics argument. Would not be surprised to see it on Media Lists on Dec 31.

Bianca is an awesome story, but it did not have the impact, and Coast to Coast reveling that the Raptors win provided.

It's the Raptors for sure. The Raptors logo is actually being used as an alternate national emblem to the maple leaf in a way. There were plenty of people in the crowd wearing Raptors hats as a National symbol. We the North and the Raptors logo actually transcend basketball and the NBA now in Canada.

Save for Serena, the WTA has been a streaming pile of merde for about a decade now. We've had a long list of random one Slam wonders in women's tennis over that period of time. No way does winning one Of those compares to what the Raptors did, sports and culture/audience participation wise.

Even if Milos or Denis or Felix got one in the Big Three era in Men's tennis, that still wouldn't be anywhere close to overshadowing the Raps.

Anyone who claims otherwise is either delusional or is suffering from a major recency bias case.

And I'm a huge tennis fan, had a great time at the Open over the Pabour Day Weekend.

Honestly, it should be a tie between Bianca and the Raptors. Both of their accomplishments are as equally impressive. I don't think anyone would be against this idea, either.

I mean, why not? If there was ever a time for a tie, this would be it in my opinion.
