Any hiphop heads in the house? I know Post Malone has a unique sound and it's hard to categorize his music, but it's a mix of Hip-Hop, R&B, Trap, Pop and Rap.

None the less, anyone heard this album? It's an instant classic, easily the best album of the year. Such easy listening with a dark undertone/message. Hooks are on point and confidence/vibe has Post Malone at the top of his game.

Any albums you'd suggest for a guy who loves old school hip hop but also R&B?

I tried the Tyler the creator stuff, was pretty decent but didn't hit home.

As for the OP, I'm a Post Malone fan too, I know a lot of people either love him or hate him. Looking forward to checking the album out.

Its a good album. Too many tracks I think. It would've benefitted more from a 13 track album.

Loving Hollywood's bleeding, die for me, and take what you want the most.

Anderson Paak's previous album Malibu seems to resonate really well universally and definitely with the people I know that old heads. I also loved his 2014 album (i think debut?), Venice.

It's not even the best hip-hop album released on Sept. 6th of this year.

EARTHGANG - "Mirrorland" is far better.

Not debut. He has two previous lesser known releases under the name "Breezy Lovejoy". Both are fantastic.

Music is subjective, I get it ... and I've seen rap/hip-hop/r&b evolve A LOT over the years, but my own personal opinion is that Post Malone puts out pure, unadulterated trash.

Depends what you’ve heard and not heard. Might be a fan of Benny the Butchers new album although I found his voice insufferable. Black Thought (Roots MC) released his 2 first solo albums last year and they both are incredible. Pusha T’s DAYTONA from last summer was awesome. KIDS SEE GHOSTS nails the hip-hop/soul sound which is kinda r&b. Other solid “old school” albums from the year are the new Smif-N-Wesson, Your Old Droog, or Black Milk.

For R&B this year I really liked the Jail Paul, Jamila Woods, and James Blake’s albums. Not quite R&B but the new Bon Iver is awesome but if you’ve never heard him before, For Emma Forever Ago is an absolute must hear imo. The new Lana Del Rey is surprisingly good as well. You’ve likely heard of but the new Lizzo is really fun.

ALSO not sure what Tyler you’ve heard, but his two newest albums are so much better than his old stuff which is imo absolute trash. Flower Boy is one of the best albums of the 2010’s and IGOR is growing into that territory as well.

Agree, I’m a fan of all types of music and I have no issues with Pop Rap or Trap Music, but Post Malone is **** garbage.

Definitely not a fan of this guy, white Iverson was good, just not a fan of his

TOBi - "STILL" is a great album by a Toronto native. Kinda surprised that every time I am visiting the city, hardly anyone I talk to knows about him. Sounds kind of like Anderson .Paak mixed with the "Toronto sound". Not exactly a bad combination.

100 more albums? jesus the bitterness. he makes pop music. just say u dont like pop music. theres a reason why he sells out shows and those other guys do not.
