Might not need this extra shooting if Freddy can consistently shoot it like this, Lowry does his thing and OG, Norm, and Pascal are consistent. Then you have variables like Gasol and Ibaka who can give you two or even three on any given game. Trying not to get too carried away, but Terrence might be ready for minutes right away in a bench sub role, especially if Kyle isn't ready to go out of the gate. Also, Boucher looks ready for minutes that aren't garbage minutes if we need him - not that he is a frontrunner, but we all know injuries happen.

For anyone that is saying Norm didn't do much, Norm plays much better with talent around him, not as a guy bringing the ball up. Played off Marc real well last year and is better with distributors around him. I believe he will have a great year and you'll see it more when he is an off ball player like he was in the playoffs and is able to better make decisions to shoot it, move it or attack the close out. OG too is better when he can be the 5th option and should be nice in the starting line up.

Also, I had no idea Dewan could move like this. I don't have a real comparison for him but he moves so much like a small 4/big 3 at his height which is unreal.

dewan, fvv, norm, td, pascal all have one thing in common, they were very old compared to thier draft class.

even delon.

there definitely is an inefficiency the raptors are exploiting in getting players who are perceived to have "reached their prime potential".

between scouting, and more importantly developing and giving them a chance raptors won a chip.

remember all the hate this board had when they passed on skal lassibier who couldnt even start for his college team and selected pascal.

That is one of the funniest/defining moments of this board. Skal still sucks and everyone forgot about him. I've been on board with most of the moves TD, Dewan, Konate, Thomas...but for the life of me, I cannot defend the Payne acquisition. I hope they saw something I haven't seen but my god does he still not look good in the workout vids.

I hear ya, he is a G league player, but if it makes you feel any better, the dude's first year isn't even fully guaranteed. Not a hard guy to ditch.

I think they think they can train him because he fits into their mold of being teachable and personable.

i mean for a 3rd string pg on a non guaranteed deal, you see what you can get.

i mean he's a great dancer i think - so after seeing the Brooklyn Nets put on a clinic last year, Masai thought he needs a dance crew on the bench as well. he's also a master of handshakes. thats a morale booster for sure.

Hopefully, he'll polish those areas in the 905.

I hope all our pickups this offseason pan out, a future defensive lineup with Konate & TD could be deadly.

Go back and read my posts. I said he'll be our main back up at least by year 2, and people laughed at me. I'm not an NBA scout (maybe I should be) but when I saw Pascal, Fred, and Powell, I said they'd be good NBA rotational players at least. The Suns released TD and I watched a game he played for them. Then after watching 2 preseason games he played for us, I said "MU did it again. He got us a steal". TD is by far more polished than what Pascal, Fred, and Powell were when they came into the league. TD will be up with the main team for at least half the season, and in the 905 at the other half. I'm glad and excited we got him.

I think you failed scout training already.

This guy not only has a chance to make the team, but could be a key rotational player too.

Trying to temper my expectations before it gets stepped on...but TD looks lethal right now

I am excited about his 2 way potential... it remains unseen whether he will put the offense together when the bright lights are on

Powell somehow turns into an allstar against the Bucks in the playoffs lmao...he's worth keeping for that reason alone.

To be fair he said sun's, maybe because there are over 300 days of sun in Denver Colorado - the summer league that TDjr played for

"After his outstanding Summer League opener for the Denver Nuggets on Sunday afternoon in which Davis dropped 22 points in 26 minutes, Toronto had seen enough to sign the guard out of Ole Miss to a two-year deal just hours later. The Raptors confidence in him was so immediate that it even caused Davis to briefly backtrack on the words that he lives by."

Ego holds us all back. Leafs are on the right track recognizing hard working champions. My compliments to Babcock.

Yup. Of course denver didn't release him either so that entire statement was hogwash.

OK so now that I understand Payne is low risk. I think the logic is that of our three reclamation projects: RHJ, Stanley Johnson and Payne one of them should pan out.

We have the 3 reclamation projects I just mentioned and a few actual projects in: Konate, Boucher, Dewan, McCaw. It's like you balance your investment portfolio with low and high risk. There is certainly a method to Masai's moves.
