This is the NBA. A contract never stopped anyone from being a target. In fact, we have more chance of trading for a guy under contract than hoping he comes as a free agent.

i don't get the infatuation with Beal - when he was barking away at our player in the playoffs and speaking to media when Wall was down everyone thought he was a punk.

Now we want him oh so bad? meh

Of course. But not this season. Beal is off the market until next summer.

C'mon, Norm! I still believe in you!

Damn. Seems like he’s going for that 5-year $200+ million contract after this one as a 10-year vet. Guess he plans to stay in Washington for the long run.

Next up, Jrue Holiday.

In another year or two when we want to win, we'll trade back to back MIP's Stanley and RHJ for Beal.

We should go after buddy heild. Doesn’t seem like he’s going to stay in Sacramento and he’s one of the best shooters in the league.

Might have to overpay a little bit but it’s better than paying Middleton or Tobias Harris the max like phily and bucks

I don't get it either. People wanted to trade Lowry for him at one point.

Beal was always a long shot anyway.

This is why I when rebuilding, I tend to lean more towards acquiring young guys with potential on cheap, long term/rookie deals instead of clearing the books and hoping that Giannis, Beal or anyone else is going to walk through the door and save the day.

It hasn't happening in the entire history of the organization. I doubt its going to happen any time in the the near future.

I love Beal as a player and he's great in fantasy basketball but for some reason I could never see him as a Raptor.

Past performance isn't always indicative of future results.

Free agents didn't sign with us in the past because we were a crappy franchise up until 5-6 years ago. It's still a long shot to sign a free agent but our odds are much better than they were when Masai first took over.

And the way that the Raps are set up, they can straddle the line of acquiring and developing young guys while maintaining a winning culture and clearing some cap space for free agency.

What do we have to trade for Beal? Or Buddy for that matter?

Please tell us about the franchises you have successfully turned around lol.

We got guys on the cheap in SJ and RHJ. If they were solidified studs, they would have re signed with their current teams. Rookie deals are extremely valuable...it is very hard to not earn your rookie deal with the cap the way it is. Even a practice guy can make 3M in this league (SJ and RHJ).

Why not provide some examples that you in your tenure have so we can get a clearer picture of HOW you would go on about this.

If Masai is cool with paying Buddy $110 million and the Kings really don't want to, then I can see a trade (Kings wouldn't want to lose Buddy for nothing). A first round pick plus filler may do it (if Buddy is really threatening to leave the Kings if a contract is not done). Buddy is one of the best 3 point shooters out there, and would make a great pairing with Pascal and OG. Plus he has been chilling with our boys at the Rico runs, so he knows our team well

So... he’s one of the best 3 point shooters in the league, but we’re getting him for a non-lottery first and filler?
