With Norm you have no idea what you will get when steps onto the floor. At least with RHJ, Boucher, Matt and TD...you know what they bring when they check in. Norm is typical feast or famine.

Stan just flat out sucks. Can't shoot, can't dribble and is he really that great a defender? He has no NBA future.

Totally agree with you about Johnson. I question his IQ as well. He would rather drive into the key stacked with opponents and take it to the rim rather than dish out for an uncontested 3. He's got an ego and doesn't make the best decisions.

I could see Norm being moved at the deadline for maybe a shorter contract or a more useful player, but that's about it.

They really like players with two-way ability. Redick is soft on the defensive end and is just pretty much an upgraded version of Matt Thomas.

I feel like someone like Jae Crowder fits more of the Raptors mold

I'm going to guess many nba general managers think that the difference between Reddick's value over Matt Thomas Is pretty vast. It's perhaps the reason why he gets 20 million dollar contracts while Matt Thomas gets 0 million dollar contracts.

Maybe they're wrong! I don't know! I think I side with them and not realgm raptors board posters on this one though.

A massive chunk of the league is locked up until mid-December. There won't be any significant trades taking place until then.

part of reddick value is his "leadership" quality, first 76ers and now pelicans signed him to bring a culture to a young team.

All that for Redick? Please tell me you're joking

New Orleans would want draft picks in return. Other teams will be in the hunt as well for Redick, so just Norm alone will not get Redick. Norm and Stanley Johnson's salaries match Redick. I would be comfortable trading a first round pick to make that deal happen (must add lottery protected).

price last year was second rounders which is ok with me.

I see Masai targeting guys finishing up rookie contracts for which their teams haven't picked up their options on...just to take a chance.

Any of those guys that we now know of?

The Raptors are currently 8-3 and are still winning on a west coast road trip even with over half the starting lineup injured at the same time. They have loads of developing young talent, a budding superstar and no major financial commitments.

I'm pretty sure we don't have to swing for the fences to make this team a legit contender right now. A specialist - yes, a shooter with a bit more floor presence than Matt Thomas – might be helpful. Or a backup 4, preferably a power big who can match up well with larger power forwards, might also be useful, or a third point guard who is good enough to be our prime backup since we really use Lowry and Fred as combos more often than not.

Our best chip is our 2020 first round pick. If you remove that, it also removes second year rookie scale money that goes with it come the summer of 2021.Nor is the player we could draft in June likely to be any better than what this management team seems able to find with late second rounders or undrafted guys, or cheap rehabbing vets. You only need so many project kids, and frankly, with McCoy, Davis II, Dewan Hernandez, etc, we probably have talent that will contribute more in the 2020-21 season than a 2020 first rounder.

So my advice is to think smaller. A player we might acquire who can spell our starters so they are fresher for the playoffs, help with matchups, and help us win the race for first seed, is probably a better target than waiting on someone like Beal to come on the market.

Powell and a pick makes a lot of sense if we want to improve the squad

Would rather have Matt Thomas for a much cheaper price

I hope that at some point Lillard gets frustrated and wants out but he seems super loyal and unlikely. Would be an ideal trade target, even more than the oft mentioned Beal.

Lillard is extremely loyal to Portland and very invested in the local community. I don't see any sign of him leaving, even if this is a down year for the team.

Gasol and Norm and picks for a star big or a star wing and a decent backup big

Some "bigger" names I could see being moved this year or next year:

V Oladipo (if he turns down an extension)
CJ McCollum (longshot, but if the Blazers want to shake up their core he'd draw the most interest after Lillard)
B Simmons (if the 76ers disappoint in the playoffs they could make big changes)
A Gordon (Magic have a lot of F depth)
K Love (Big contract)
B Griffin (if the Pistons really underachieve)
B Beal (longshot, but you never know with the Wiz)
J Holiday (Close to 30 years old and NOs might be enticed by a big offer)
C Paul (contract)
D DeRozan (expiring contract if he opts out, which is likely)

You mention all this but forget to add the biggest piece...Giannis.

If Giannis turns down the supermax this offseason, the Bucks would be smart to move him than risk to lose Giannis for nothing in 2021.

Powell (his 10.1 million), Stanley Johnson (his 3.6 million) and both 2020 picks are the things that makes sense to
upgrade this roster. Not saying you will get an all-star, but can get a upgrade from a team wanting picks/rebuilding.

I predict Masai trades little more than a couple of 2nd round picks for a ball handler off the bench and that’s about it.

Sixers fans and media are turning on Ben Simmons

I'd love him on this team
