OT: Sixers fans and media are turning on Ben Simmons

I dont think he will ever learn to shoot. You cant have a starting PG that cant shoot and win a chip imo.

Problem is that the sixers should play him at PF and use him as a secondary ball handler (kind of like Lamar odom). Making him a primary PG is not paying off for them unless they surround him with a bunch of shooters.

The Sixers have a weird roster, but if Simmons can be freed from Philly, I think he’d make a solid PF for another team.

LeBron, Siakam, Blake Griffin, Draymond have all shown you can still initiate the offense from the 4-spot.

I find it so pathetic that a guy can play basketball his entire life, get paid millions to do it, and can’t even shoot the damn ball. It makes zero sense.

He was a point forward in high school and college. The sixers are trying to force him into a point guard because Fultz failed. Simmons would thrive on a team like ours where we have a point guard that can shoot and handle half court duties while Simmons could run the transition offense.

It’s just a bad fit in philly. He would ball on a team full of shooters.

Practically everyone on the Raps can shoot. Simmons would still need to learn to shoot to get real burn here.

They need to play him at PF like any other team that has half a brain. I don’t know if it’s Brett brown or management but he needs to be treated a lot more like Lamar Odom than Magic.

Simmons is a unique talent that any NBA team would want. He is still young and needs to develop, and he can't do that on the bench. Philadelphia has a job to do, no doubt. But there is no reason for them to panic.

Through his age 22 season, Simmons is a great defender averaging 16 ppg, 8 rpg, 8 apg.

Through his age 22 season, Siakam averaged 4 ppg, 3 rpg, 0 apg.

Simmons being a complete non-factor in the 4th Q is a huge reason for us winning that series.

He’s not a guy that you can ride in the playoffs. He will have regular season success but he’s a huge bottleneck in the playoffs.
