99% sure. So unless you have a top 10 player you can’t really go all in. You need to be developing, collecting sssets and prepare to get that top 5/10 talent.

Right now clearing cap for giannis is our best bet to win again. Kyle won’t be here forever and any team paying Fred and Pascal 55 million is gonna have trouble filling out a championship roster unless you have one of the guys I mentioned

How quickly people forget. I’m 100% in agreement with you. No half measures. Last year only proved even more how important a top 5ish player is. Without that on the team, there’s no point. Like you said, we’re better off building and collecting assets.

so woj saying raps are looking to add talent seems to be a message blast from masai to other gms to make offers since nothing seems to be on the table at the moment.

In the offseason? Beal can't be traded until then...

Shopping around other team's boards, I can say with certainty that there are hordes of fans from roughly 16 other teams in the league that think their team is a GM's conversation away from landing Beal in a trade.

Trend is spreading like a virus. Realistically he's going to be a Wizard for a long time.

I think when you look at where this team is at, and the history of our FO, doing "nothing" in the trade market this year is likely the best bet. If we can stay healthy and Pascal gets going again, we're a legit 50 win team with the potential for a fun playoff run. We're in great shape financially, and we have some really good young players in Fred, Pascal, TD, and OG. As much as a Kawhi trade and whatever happened last season was a bit of an anomaly, it is proof of a successful formula. Make smart moves, get good players, and hope for a lucky break like Kawhi, Danny & Marc becoming available at a low cost.

We already went "all in" when we traded for Serge & PJ. Then we went "all in" again last season. The fact that we even have the assets to make a big move at this point is pretty impressive. But this team is too good to make any small moves (most of the trades being thrown around here don't really make us much better), and not good enough to throw away our draft picks/future to be better this season.

When you look at the potentially available players - D Rose, Jrue, Drummond, CP, Gallinari etc - none of them really make me feel like we'd suddenly have the edge in a big series unless we're getting them for scraps. I mean, we've just seen Kyle, Pascal, Fred, Serge, Marc, Norm come up big when it mattered most. The only guy from that list that gets me excited is Jrue, but I'm still not sure if it really makes enough of a difference.

The guys who would put us over the edge - Giannis, Lebron, PG, Kawhi, AD, Embiid, Butler, Curry, KAT, Dame, Luka, Harden - are nowhere near being available.

But what if FO has told them they're tanking to pair a top pick with a healthy Wall and Beal?

The wizards suck. His DRPM was never "worst defensive impact player" in previous years, which I kind of expect since RPM really doesn't do very well in differentiating if a team is good or sucks.

Kyle isn’t goin anywhere. He’s got 1 more year left too so no urgency at all.

I’d say there’s a 50% chance one of the other two maybe get moved but that’s only because we’d need to include salary depending on the trade.

Honesty I’d be surprised if he didn’t sell high on norm because he’s been here for long enough that I think they have a pretty good ideal of his abilities.

Can they trade for Kawhi to play from deadline to end of playoffs and trade him back to the Clippers after?

There's no reason for us to make any moves unless it is for an all star level talent. We have proven we have enough depth to remain competitive and a minor move isn't going to push the needle enough in any direction.

We are better off filling any holes or depth through the buyout market. Or if there's a trade where a team will take a late second rounder, because I don't think Masai really values those picks - we don't really need them with our success on undrafted players

there are at least two future hall of famers on this roster and two all stars plus Fred who would be an all star if not for Lowry.

I mean how much talent do you people need to be happy? I wouldn’t even want to trade this core for any of the current top 5.

Giannis or someone else will come. In the meantime, the path to the ECF is wide open and then who knows.

Still think we should be looking at Gordon Hayward from the Celtics.

He can shoot, handle the ball, plays on the wing, about to turn 30 and only has one more year left on his deal after the current one. Not only does he address all our needs at the moment but would make us a better team for the playoff run AND be a valuable expiring next offseason that we can offer for a star who isn't going to re-sign with his current club.

I'd so Ibaka and S.Johnson or McCaw for him.
