Seats at the Scotiabank
Something that has bothered me for a few years, when is MLSE going to update the inside of the arena? We have had those ugly AF red, yellow, green seats for as long as I can remember, doesn’t look the best when it’s not full with people.
Surely it’s time to make them all black or something?

Not sure what the maintenance/future update plan is... I doubt anyone here will, but maybe I'll stand corrected.

Re: Seats at the Scotiabank
The seats have been replaced/upgraded at least once, I believe. The choice of color is to honor the old Maple Leaf Garden seat colors. There is history involved and the sections conferred a level of status on the seat holder. ie: "Sitting in the golds", etc...
They could still sell the tickets using the same color coded map while the actual in arena seats could be different, and I tend to agree that a different color scheme would be a nice change and improvment, but as long as the Maple Leafs are the primary ticket selling tenant (with way more history than the Raptors), I wouldn't expect things to change. A little history/nostalgia isn't a terrible thing.
Changing the seat colors would be seen by some as a move to identifying the Raptors the primary tenant, and that would not sit well with a bunch of the old money that has been tied to the Leafs for decades.

That's a big commitment. I'd rather sit when corrected, but, of course, I'm well past 37.

In most places, row numbers do that just fine.
We're just used to this in Toronto since someone (Harold Ballard) one day decided to match the seat colors with the pricing structure. You'd think it would be done in more places, and it is in some, but for the most part, teams and arena operators do just fine with row numbers.
Imaging if they removed two rows of reds and changed them to golds, so they could charge more. Does that make any sense? It did at Maple Leaf Gardens.

Well everyone should get to their seats in time!
Reqlly though, maybe having theatre lighting dimming the crowd would make a difference. Even for hockey.

Its a class based societal structure
we want to make sure those dirty reds don't sit in the gold seats;
(for anyone who has read/audiobooked Red Rising series by Pierce Brown, highly recommend the best sci-fi series I've read since the original dune)

800 million over 20 years Scotiabank is paying, who is responsible for maintenance and upkeep MLSE or Scotiabank?

I heard we are getting black/gold OVO seats in honour of Drake.

MLSE. Scotiabank just pays for naming rights. They have no say in how the arena is run.

While they're at it, I'd like a seat cushion and maybe some more legroom please. I am not willing to pay extra however.

Re: Seats at the Scotiabank
If they want to maintain the old colours for seating, maybe they could do it more subtly like have black seats but have yellow or red or green trim or plates on top.

This has never crossed my mind, never was bothered by it. Maybe I just think it's the norm. I know they updated the platinum seats a few years ago.
