Got a bad feeling the Knicks are gonna offer stupid money to Fred. More than Masai will spend

I think NY will miss out on Hayward as he wants to be in Indy. I predict Dipo ends up in Boston in a sign and trade for Hayward. NY then pivots and offers a bigger contract to Fred. We may miss out on both Fred and Ibaka :o

If NY is itching to pull the trigger on a FA deal I see that as the most likely scenario.

But, it's conditional on the fact that, I think, Indy has a ceiling on how much they want to pay for an injury prone Hayward (or FVV for that matter). It won't be much more if any than Dipo's current 20ish mil contract.

NY can just go over the top and offer him 25 plus if they really want. They would maybe even hedge and do a two year at big money.

I think Hayward is now the domino that falls before Fred's contract.

You really want to watch RHJ iso like he's Melo again next year?

Buit he's one step further down the depth chart - he becomes Stanley Johnson

why focus on his negatives? he moves the ball and goes after misses. doesn't force 3s.

He's unplayable. An absolute zero on offence. Can't shoot at all, destroys the flow and spacing on O. Much better role player options available.

Raptors were +4.5 with him on the floor and -3.1 with him off the floor. he had a rating of 114 and 104 on offense and defense, respectively for the Raptors last year. which is pretty darn fine for a bench player and "absolute zero" guy, as you say it. and best bench offensive rebounder for the Raps in the regular season.

he contributes much more to the game than your eye test shows.

he is a positive during the regular season, always bring energy and effort, but playoffs you cannot have one dimensional players, raptors target them, other teams target them.

but during a long season you need a 9-10th man on the roster like RHJ, would love for him to come back on a similar deal to last year.

I’d take either at the min as a backup C ... while we decide to play with no C in most crunch mins (Anunoby as C)

Harrell can't be got for backup C money
Thompson is cool but I'd much prefer baynes or giles

Interesting, this may be our only offseason where suddenly the low state taxes will work in our favour. Could land us a nice player for the MLE.

I 100% agree

And I know Harrell cannot be had for that money- so I’ll be happy missing out

I dont get the love for baynes, 34 years old, has spent the last 2 years dealing with all sorts of lower body injuries, hips, knees, ankles etc.

That basically takes them out of the running for Fred right? I think the Knicks have about 40 mill in cap space, so that would leave them with less than 20 for Fred.

I really hope we're able to retain Fred at a cap friendly number. It would be a shame to lose him for nothing, or sign him for an untradable amount. I think we'll end up at 4/85.

knicks only need to shed 3-4$ million to fit both, could easily ship bullock/nikiltina/smith jr to create cap space.

What about Powell, TD, and McCaw for Bogdan Bogdanovic for $15 million per year?

I might rather have BB for $15 than Powell for closer to $20 million or more.

no doubt. he got 0 playing time in the playoffs which is too be expected. regular season games you can easily go back and forth and have extra possessions. 0 need for RHJ in the playoffs if you're playing half court basketball and possessions are at a premium.

if powell is worth $20 or more doesnt that mean he is the better player? plus adding td?

and did you not just see the poo poo plater Sac agreed to in s&t for bogdan?

and bogdan agreed to $72m/4 deal with bucks before that fell through.

If Kings are willing to accept DiVincenzo + Ilyasova + Wilson then...

Powell + McCaw + SJ for Bogdanovic should get it done. Maybe throw in a second rounder.

I think DD is more highly regarded since he's younger so GM's see more potential for growth. Powell basically is what he is now, which is a solid player, but nothing exciting for other GM's. Kings are a random/weird franchise though, who knows how they over or under value their own players, let alone other players around the league.

Knicks gonna Knick.

190 million combined for Hayward and Fred would be epically Knick-Esque.
