Seems like he's got a really successful YouYube career. What are his chances at making the 905 team? Would be super interesting having a YouTube star on the squad lol

They want a YouTube subscriber with millions of followers to record and document the experience.
The Raptors 905 which is already very popular because of its many player development success stories, will get even more publicity after this smart PR move.
The video will more than likely get several million views and show what Canada and specifically Toronto and Mississauga are like during the warmer seasons.
I don't think anyone expects him to make the roster. Dudes 150lbs. But it's a win-win for both parties.

He's not a G League level player, but he's not bad at the park I guess. It's good for Raptors' social media exposure, that's probably the only reason he's getting an invite.

I've seen him play 1 on 1 against some guy. He looks like your average good high school player. He received a scholarship to play at the University of Ottawa. In short, he would get eaten alive by G League guys.

He's from Wisconsin. Why would Ottawa be offering anything?

I guess because they thought he could help their team... Why else does a college program offer a scholarship? Not sure what him being from Wisconsin has to do with anything.

No American should be considering a Canadian athletics scholarship...

How come? It would be a full ride to your degree. If you're American and not getting any offers in the US, and another country is offering to pay for your education...why would you not consider that?

Well apparently they do consider them and in some cases they accept them. Tristan, chose to forgo the scholarship and become a Youtuber instead.

Ottawa university is in Kansas

It’s an naia school so it’s not that high level.

Yep you're right it was Ottawa University. Regardless, doesn't change the fact that American players do go to Canadian universities to play basketball.
