For the same reason sports are starting up again. Money over everything.

Things change so fast, that's two weeks away and by the look of things, that probably doesn't happen. I'm just shocked that people would actually fly/drive and go there with their kids even now.

tough schedule, but a 3 game lead with 8 games left is hard to overcome for the C's. Even if they win the only game against us, 2 game lead with 7 is pretty hard. They'd have to go 5-2 in the other games and we'd have to go 3-4, and even with the schedule being favourable for them, theyre still playing teams fighting for positioning or fighting for their playoff lives

Currently the 7 seed is Brooklyn, the 6 seed is Philly. Who would you rather play in the first round?
4, 5 and 6 are all close. No need to stress
4, 5 and 6 are all significantly better than 7 is the point.
Having an easy first round opponent isn't essential, but it will help.

The NBA has totally botched this. Every extra day in Florida and game played is a chance for the whole thing to go up in flames.
They should've jumped right to the playoffs and brought back the best of 5 for the first round.

I believe whoever wins the next game between Raptors vs Celtics gets the tiebreaker.......Celtics are up 2-1 but if Raptors can tie it 2-2 they would win the tiebreaker since they would finish as the division leader.
TIEBREAKER BASIS FOR TWO-WAY TIES:
(-) Tie breaker not needed (better overall winning percentage)
(1) Head-to-head won-lost percentage
(2) Division leader wins tie from team not leading a division
