Siakam, is it time to worry?
He's been downright awful in the bubble, and if we're being honest, he was less then average the last 2 months of the season before the shutdown. Has a tendency to play really well against bum teams, and is pretty much of negative value against elite teams. I can't lie, it really worries me if we go into the playoffs really believing he can be a #1 option on offence.

Re: Siakam, is it time to worry?
He’s an elite number two because of his 2 way ability and his passive attitude. He’s just not a number 1 and he loses his defense by trying to be

He is suffering from being the guy other teams gameplan against. He got to fly under the radar with Kawhi on the team.
It is time to worry. I do trust in him to focus on his weaknesses in the offseason though.

Re: Siakam, is it time to worry?
Yes, yes, YES. Siakam is HOT garbage. I’ve been saying this for months and I’m going to say this AGAIN, I can’t remember the last good game siakam had (fully complete). Like he was unguardable and unbelievable during the first few months then ever since December it’s all been downhill. I hope y’all know that the only reason he is an “all-star” is cuz of how fkn incredible he was playing until December. Siakam post December is just all disappointment. He went from being unguardable to... everyone being able to guard him. Like how lmao

Re: Siakam, is it time to worry?
I've been fine with him all year but the fact that he wasn't attacking the Jaylen Brown match up is concerning. His touch has just been gone since coming to the bubble.
I'm still holding out for the playoffs though.

he's a good second option, not a first one...so no, its not time to worry, as long you keep your expectations in check.

Re: Siakam, is it time to worry?
im starting to worry because hes done changed his whole **** game to be finesse... all he needed was to take advantage when the defender sags off him. I think it went from trying to extra stuff to full on changing his style of play and if this continues he wont be the player he was.

Its true that he hasnt been very good for months. Even before the stoppage we had the same topics. Its a big concern no doubt.

Eh, less worry, more acceptance that he just isn't the guy we thought he was in November. That stretch is just looking like a hot streak. Hopefully he can be decent in the playoffs and become November Pascal next year.

Hahaha. I know we’re all still in pandemic hell and it’s comforting to group together to complain about **** but come the f on... seems silly to remind anyone (not like anyone’s been too busy too pay a little bit of f’n attention) that they were off for 5 months which is longer than the longest ever break between finals and beginning of next season. They’re all still shaking off some rust....Spocy P and the rest of them look better prepared than most I don’t doubt they “won the pause”, and a repeat would not surprise me in the least.

Re: Siakam, is it time to worry?
No it's not time to worry, and here's why
You have to remember the expectations on him and this team going into the season. His hot start, becoming an ASG starter, and the Raptors becoming a #2 seed has clouded everyone's judgement, but it was always understood that this was a developmental season focused on getting him reps.
If Nurse wanted to, he could put Siakam back in an easier role, getting him looks in the corner 3 and in transition, have similar #s and good efficiency as last year, but he's making him create and do stuff like pull up in the midrange for a reason.
I honestly think the playoffs will go the same way, the reality is we have no way of getting a #1 star Unless Giannis comes, so we have to give him these reps
Growing pains basically

Re: Siakam, is it time to worry?
He has absolutely no go-to moves and his handle was disgusting tonight. This game made me wonder if Siakam is the worst player to ever start in an all-star game, in terms of flashiness and pure talent. Just awful.

What happened to his spin move? What happened to his driving floater off glass?
Now it's dribble, dribble, dribble, one-footed Dirk fade-away

He averaged 25 in December. From October to the end of November he also averaged 25.
In the 9 games before the season cancelled he was at 24 a game.
In the bubble he's averaging 15.8
Big difference

Re: Siakam, is it time to worry?
I'm not really a fan of how frequently the Raps give him the ball behind the 3-point line to create. He's shown flashes doing that, but is far from reliable. I know he needs those reps, but I'd like to see more touches around the basket, mid-post area where he can get some easier looks to get going. Saw a bit of that tonight. In the first half when he tried to take Brown off the dribble, he looked totally out of control. In the second half, he got some post touches on Brown, and scored with relative ease.
