Being upset/disappointed is one thing. This is some other type of hate thats been festering in these individuals waiting for a time like this to come out.

When people show you who they are, believe them. This goes beyond the NBA.

It does because whites take 100% of the blame when it needs to be applied to all. The reality is that places like India/China are way more racist than Canada/US. The larger the majority the more racist is the general rule doesn't matter what race.

You can have large racial majorities in regions of a country too. Like its possible to have a town that almost completely one race and another that is mixed in the same state. In all likelihood that town with one race is going to be more racist to someone from another race. This stuff happens inter-racially too just look at the feuds between the French in Quebec and English its all tribal instinct. There is even something called colorism where lighter skinned people and darker skinned people will feud against each other within the same race. I was a fan of Wu-tang growing up and the other group members would often pick on U-god because he was lighter skinned.

and please don't blame this on 'white privaledge'. Toronto is ethnically diverse and many of the newcomers are from countries where racism is bad.

I am not surprised. People are naive to think Canada doesn't have wide-spread racism. It is quite prevalent in our society. Its not yet mainstream as it is in the states but if anyone wants to see how many racists MAGA clones there are in Canada, just look up the comments section of any news videos from CTV, Global, CBC etc. You will find those filled with Far-right bigots who act and talk just like the MAGA supporters down south. From bigotry to racism, wanting to kill liberal politicians to anti-immigration rhetoric and dismissing social issues like climate change, covid, gender equality, BLM etc, you will find it all there. Canada is not as friendly as people might think. We have dark elements hiding in the shadows waiting to go full-main stream. All they need is a far-right fear monger to become PM and they will all creep out of hiding.
