One thing makes sense - you don't give the coach a long-term contract if you know the top guy is leaving or might. If you had to replace top guy, the replacement should have a say on the coaching issue. So if this does lead to new deals for Bobby and Masai, we're moving in the right order.

I won't be able to sleep well until Dan Tolzman and Alex McKechnie are locked up ... for life! What a killer management team this would be going forward.

But there may be some turnover, because I would expect Masai to try to bring more African American talent into the organization. It's clear from his interaction with Kenny Smith that he wants to be a player/mentor in that regard.

I'm sure this prediction is credible, and it makes sense that Masai is waiting for everything to be finalized before doing his end of year presser.

I mean, if MLSE let them go they'd be idiots. And to be fair, I think MLSE has really turned it around from an ownership perspective. They seem more hands-off and aren't so worried about the bottom line. They did a lot of good work by bringing in the right people to run each organization.

I mean, they have it easy by owning these teams. The Leafs are always going to be a cash cow in Canada. The Raptors are likely the same now with the growth of the game in Canada. TFC is also hugely popular within the GTA. Rogers also has the Blue Jays. The Argos is the only team that is having the toughest time.
