Boston failing is just insane too me. They had so many assets, had great team of players and it looks like their window is slowly closing unless they do something

Boston still has two really good young guys in Tatum and Brown which will keep them competitive but it will be a lot harder for them to improve going forward now that they've gone through their draft pick warchest and they have little cap flexibility.

Boring, irrelevant story. Hope it stays that way.

The Los Angeles Lakers are in the market to hire a new head athletic trainer after injuries ravaged their 2020-21 season.

Nina Hsieh, promoted to head trainer two years ago, did not have her contract renewed, sources told ESPN.

Personally, I'm shocked that a team that starts Forkwad Corkspazz and a range-less point guard isn't good enough to get to the ECF.

Didn't know if a whole thread was needed. But I have read so much about how analytics don't like mid range J's. And Nick nurse doesn't let players shoot floaters. But all the guards and wings who have emerged as great players in these playoffs have one or both. Kawhi, PG, Chris Paul, Morant, Trae, Booker, KD, Harden, on and on....

In playoffs the D can protect the rim and run guys off the line, so you need that mid range game to win in the playoffs.

I game and other threads when I asked why doesn't Fred develop a floater I was told by other posters, Nick doesn't allow floaters.

On NBA TV today Sam Mitchell concurred, he said in the playoffs analytics goes out the window and mid range becomes important, 'cause you need buckets.

Boston has no Aigne, no coach Stevens (replaced with a rookie), and they are working out prospects and interviewing guys like Scottie Barnes:

Something is up. I expect some major changes coming for Boston, otherwise Stevens is really spinning the wheels to look busy.

interview, and they did have 16th pick up to a week ago, the interview might have happened before they traded pick.
he talked to bulls, who have no 1st, again that probably happened before lottery.

Maybe it is just a timing thing. I do think Stevens is a wild card as he is calling the shot now. I doubt he just stands pat considering the volume of workouts Boston is doing.

My guess is that Marcus Smart would be on the move. But I've also heard that JB and Stevens don't get along, and that it was going to be one or the other who had to go.

Brown for the 4th pick?
