Would you trade Siakam this summer?

Post#1 » by 2019nbachamps » Mon Mar 29, 2021 10:26 pm

The team has to know at this point he’s not a #1 option. If they decide to retool then why not trade Siakam to get more cap flexibility and assets in return? Siakam would definitely command a lottery pick and probably 1-2 additional decent assets. Issue is we’d need to take back contracts and/or expiring deals in return.

I would keep him if we can somehow get 2-3 decent players to join us in the summer. Otherwise it might be best to trade him and go full blown rebuild mode.

I still got hope for Siakam, in my opinion his 30% 3pt shot is holding him back, he needs to fix his 3 point shot so teams have to respect it.....if Raptors can get the top 3-5 pick and with the further development of FVV and OG, Siakam won't really have to be the #1 option, it'll be spread out among multiple players.

Siakam for Wiggins + Minnesota pick is enticing though.....I don't know if the Warriors would do it.

Unless warriors include wiseman in that deal, it’s not that enticing.

If we can get a high lottery pick, hell yeah. If we’re getting middling assets then keep him until he can be packaged for a disgruntled star.

As always, thread is useless unless you include indicative packages the Raps would get back, so that we may either praise or ridicule you.

Anybody is tradeable for the right price. I wouldn't trade him for a single high-pick.

Only if it leads to the acquisition of a superstar.

Warriors fans and media folks keep talking about trading the Wolves pick and Wiggins for Pascal. They need win now pieces.

If they offered their own pick, (top 10 protected), the wolves pick (top 3 protected) and Wiggins for salary filler, I'm all over it.

You could go into the draft lottery with:

Raps lotto pick
Wolves top 3 protected pick
Warriors top 10 protected pick
2 early second rounders

I'm all over that.

Buy low sell high is the key to success. We don't need to trade him when his value is at the lowest point and we are not contending for the championship in the next couple of years. Develop young player while boost Siakam's trade value is the proper path to build towards the next championship.

Pascal is better than Tobias Harris.
Pascal is a good 2-way player, who's a good playmaker, covers gap well as a 4, and above average scoring player

So much overreaction.

Pascal is a great second option, as we saw when Kawhi was here. If we get a good first option, whether it's through the draft or a signing like Beal, Siakam is elite as a second option. If we can't, then absolutely trading him should be on the table if a good offer presents itself.

Minny pick isn't even that good. If it doesn't transfer this year - i.e. the Wolves land in the top 3 of the lottery - then yes it's unprotected in 2022, but Wolves might actually be not terrible next season. They might trade KAT for real assets that complement Edwards and who ever they pick this year.

For all the hate he gets on here, Pascal has a virtually irreplaceable talent - 6' 9" guy who can get his own shot off and defend 2-5. He and OG are NOT being traded, not for Beal, not for virtually anyone, unless it's a Kawhi situation where the incoming player combined with our current depth puts us over the top.

The people in here clinging until their last breath to a guy making ridiculous money who isn’t a number 1 is cringy. I know he’s not terrible, but what’s the long term plan for him? We will not have a developed #1 option within the next year or two. Pascal isn’t 22.

I would trade anyone on this team. But it depends on the value in return. open ended question here.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Pascal Siakan is one of the best PFs in the game.

He's not in the Davis/Giannis/Zion tier but a tier below that and I'd argue he's at the top of that second tier.

Not going to trade him unless I'm getting a young bona-fide superstar in return
