My guy, I said TV. You can watch people having sex on your tv, brought to you by MAINSTREAM MEDIA. Cable! Oh no! That still has nothing to do with Paul Pierce being fired.

Ok what did paul get fired for?

Objectifying women. At first the board seemed resistant to that idea. But I think it's pretty clear. Who's for objectifying women anyway?!? It's Women's History Month.

(And for working for ESPN which is a progressive bastian of cultural policing and trend-setting).

You’ll have to ask ESPN, but to be perfectly honest I don’t really give a ****. What I find very stupid is a few of you guys trying to play some kind of hypocrisy card between a music performance on Saturday Night Live or something on HBO or whatever and ESPN firing an on air personality for some **** they did in their personal life. There’s no connection. They are completely different things.

Kind of does, though.

Progressives have pushed he envelope in culture/TV to accept more overt expressions of sexuality in the public domain. As you say, nudity on cable is now mainstream. Until now, the edgy cultural brokers have couched it as "female empowerment" even though it was largely exploitation. Pierce played by those former rules. Except he can't anymore. Progressives have changed the narrative. He didn't keep up with the times. Pierce got fired for objectifying womxn, not for "not wearing a mask". What Pierce did is now misogynistic, even though "you can watch naked people on TV having sex" and Cardi B is celebrated for her bravery. It is a double standard set by liberal mainstream media and Paul's head must be spinning.

What the **** are you talking about? Going to just ignore most of that weird nonsense but “Progressives” didn’t fire Paul Pierce. Like I asked you previously when you went into your little frothy rage about the left mob canceling people: WHO ASKED FOR PAUL PIERCE TO BE FIRED? There has been no public pressure on Disney or ESPN to fire him, and there is no leftist mob out for his blood. You are tilting at windmills. He posted his video, people laughed, ESPN fired him and there was a collective “good he sucked at his job”. And now you are turning him into some kind of culture war victim. Really bizarre behaviour.

This crazy woke leftist controlling culture is a mess. It seems to destroy everything it touches and doesn't build. PP should have known the crazy monsters he was dealing with.

Everyone who has ever been fired was lynched by a left wing mob of nazis. Got it.

That's just long form ad hominem. And he is "some sort" of a victim, considering he was fired by Bob Iger and Ita Buttrose. Progressives.

But your turn will probably come some day, even if you don't figure out who asked for you to be cancelled.

Lol, yes I’m sure Bob Iger personally gave the go ahead to fire Paul Pierce. I guess everyone he fires was because of woke politically correct left wing progressive fascist communism socialist Venezuela Mussolini. Bob “the canceller” Iger, they call him. I honestly can’t believe so many people are whining over Paul Pierce! He sucked at his job!

Lots of people suck at their job.. So, while we're being honest,,, that's not why he was fired. And that's what's most interesting. At least to me.

Let’s say Kevin Feige posted the video, not Paul Pierce. Does anyone think he would have been fired? There’s your real double standard. If someone doesn’t suck at their job and in fact makes billions of dollars a year for their company, they probably won’t get canceled by the feminazi green peace socialism squad, of which Bob Iger lol is clearly a member.

Paul Pierce posted a video where he was drunk or high and partying with strippers and ESPN decided he wasn’t worth keeping around. Why the **** do you care at all about that?

It ceases to be simply personal when you broadcast it to the whole world to watch. It's not like someone was spying on him or someone took a video on his behalf. Dude literally took a camera and pointed it at himself acting like a goof for the world to watch.

And yes, nudity and adult themes are on HBO shows like Game of Thrones. Game of Thrones is also considered an adult show for adult audiences in a fictional world. ESPN and basketball is supposed to be for all ages. It's like the equivalent to Jasmine popping ass in Aladdin. Sure, content like that exist somewhere, but different brands market different things. Pierce could have kept it to himself and been fine.

Maybe it'll teach some kid a lesson somewhere that you should keep your personal life personal.

You really seem to care how good people are at their jobs and seem pleased when they are removed. Personally, that's not the interesting part of this story. There's lots of bad analysts at ESPN. (Reference: their hockey division). None others have been fired. But winds are changing.

(EDIT: Wait!! Mike Milbury WAS fired for saying there weren't any cute girls in the stands to distract players during the buble....)

It's not a double standard. You need to be more of an asset vs a liability. The less money you bring in or the less competent you are on your job, the lower the tolerances for anything PR related will be. Pierce was already not good at what he did and probably should have been let go regardless, so obviously you're not going to fight for him during a PR hit.

I would not care one bit of any of their hockey team was fired. Just like I couldn’t give less of a **** about Pierce being fired. He sucked, they found an excuse to let him go and now he’s gone. He can cry about it on his giant pile of money.

Yes actually, he was also a bad analyst.

Now do Jamelle Hill or Dan Lebatard or someone who doesn’t suck.

Quality of analysis has nothing to do with things anymore. There's other criteria you are ignoring.

No one at ESPN even tried to pretend Milbury was fired for being a bad analyst.

He was cancelled due to wokeism. And I suppose there is a certain audience for that.
