But the Malice at the Palace was a dark stain on the NBA. Players fighting with fans was a bad look. If I recall, the prohibitions on players going onto the court during an altercation or going into the stands period was a result of the Palace melee.

The NBA is justifiably anal about minimizing the possibility of fights breaking out.

If someone is going to throw hands, someone is going to throw hands. No fine is going to stop anyone like Kermit.

The amount of actual fist fights has dropped significantly since the NBA made it a priority to stamp them out. Sure, if someone REALLY wants to do it they could, but it's like saying we shouldn't have any rules because if someone wants to break them they will.

Some of the posts in this thread seem to think that the NBA rules on players leaving the bench during altercations and subsequent fines and suspensions are imposed by the NBA. They aren't.

All of these rules, including the fine and suspension framework, are a negotiated agreement between the NBA and the players association. They don't exist in a vacuum. They are part of the broader partnership between the league and the players. Those rules seem to be effective in that they have brought about the desired result of minimizing the number of and scope of on-court fights and brawls. Nothing "dumb" about that.

Schroeder gave a hard, normal, "wrap-up" foul... what does he deserve? He reacted how anyone who got a side slam would have reacted.

I do agree, that it looked worse than it seemed and I don't believe OG had any intent on his part. It looked like OG had one leg, and Schroeder lost his other/balance resulting in falling back.

All two way contracts are immediately promoted to the starting line up averaging at least 35 minutes per game. And finally, the head coach is to exchange organizational roles with the team mascot.
