lol of course we would do that trade. Denver wouldn't though. Murray should come back fully healthy in 2022

Yes, it's only an ACL and Murray is still young. OG (and Marcus Stroman for that matter) came back full force in less than a year.

I'd add the 2023 FRP with Fred (2022 is the double cohort draft). And Boucher to match salaries?

I suggested Vanvleet + Boucher & FFRP for Murray. Got about a 50% approval rating. I actually think Vanvleet fits really well in Denver and Boucher adds a dynamic off the bench for them that they lost when Grant left. It gives them a more balanced lineup and Porter Jr. can step up as the 2nd option.

Vanvleet
Barton
Porter Jr.
Gordon
Jokic

Boucher - Morris - Green - Campazzo - Dozier

Raptors build around Murray - Trent Jr. - Anunoby - Siakam - 2021 FRP.

Love the first trade. I would trade Vanvleet & Boucher for Williams + filler, I don't need Markkanan to be included. I wouldn't do the 2nd deal. If it was Siakam for Wiggins + MIN 2021 pick (4th) I would. Especially if we also move up.

Suggs/Green (4th pick)
Trent Jr.
Anunoby
Williams
Mobley (2nd pick)

Markkanan in there as a S&T for salary matching purposes.

They lose him to a big RFA offer anyway.

This is a bit of a tongue in cheek post. More a thought experiment on how to reload with an entire lineup of top of the draft prospects (and how we might not even want to do these trades). To me, it shows that the back end of the draft is still VERY valuable as long as you select the right player.

The best franchises extract value late in the draft. Teams like OKC & Boston that have/had a treasure trove of picks that amounted to nothing.

Delon Wright (20th)
Norman Powell (46th)
Pascal Siakam (27th)
Fred Vanvleet (undrafted)
OG Anunoby (23rd)
Chris Boucher (undrafted)
Flynn (29th).

That's great returns on prospects drafted later than 20th.

Agreed.

From memory, it seems those teams (OKC and Boston) tended to pick along the same lines as the generally accepted mock drafts.

Conversely, the Raps have gone off board more, and had a lottery pick fall into their laps (OG). Better to be lucky sometimes I suppose.

Yea, I agree, I think FVV would fit extremely well with their current roster, and make them better defensively, in my opinion, as well as Boucher giving them that scoring punch off the bench that they might need for next year.

I think more importantly, for us, from a Raptor's point of view, it would break up that tandem of FVV + Siakam, and indirectly and consequently might do us some good, similar to Demar + Lowry, when the former got traded. Additionally, a Murray + GTJ + Anunoby + Siakam line up sounds really deadly on paper, and alot more promising in terms of our future outlook.

If we somehow end up with cade I'd swing for the fences and try to accelerate the rebuild. Extend lowry 3yr 50 mill deal, bring back Serge on 3 year 40 mill deal. Birch back on biannual 2 year 8 mill deal.

Use the second rounders to move up and get a late first for some more talent in this deep draft.

Resign gtj.

Fvv/flynn
Lowry/gtj/bembry
Og/cade/watson
Siakam/Boucher/yuta
Serge/birch/gillie/1st rounder

Lowry can be flipped for more assets if we don't compete fast enough.

Since Boucher is hurt, do people think that he'd be more apt to sign an extension now like how JV hurt his groin and signed a cheap extension?

Tough to see this and not think our offseason should be sign and trading Lowry for a 1st and some 1 year junk (George Hill or Beverley probably) and using the 10-15M or so in cap space to take on someone like Aminu from Chicago so they have cap room and getting a couple unprotected 2nd rounders for our trouble, maybe also trading Boucher to a team who could use him next to a stout 4 like New Orleans (who have a million picks).

Nerlens Noel has bounced around more than I thought he would. I remember back in college he was close to the defensive numbers AD put up at Kentucky. Now his time has come in the NBA:

Raps need to sign this guy. I watcha ton of Knicks and he challenges every shot with no fear of being dunked on. He is like Birch but that just better on defense.

Siakam for Wiggins + 4th/5th overall
FVV for Myles Turner
Draft Jalen Green with TWolves FRP
Draft Tre Mann with our FRP

Mann/Malachi/Bembry
Green/Trent Jr/Harris
Wiggins/Yuta/Watson
OG/Boucher/Johnson
Turner/Birch/Gillespie

This is without factoring in the non tax MLE and Bi Annual.
Tre Mann should be a Top 5 Pick in the 2021 Draft

Possible Dark Horse Lowry sign and trade
Knicks, Denver, Dallas

I wanted to see Lowry on Denver at the deadline. That would still be my number one destination.

Posted this in the draft thread but then realized that it should probably go here...

A very hypothetical trade scenerio...

Assuming we are 7th pre-lottery...
Would you trade our pre-lottery draft position for Houston's?
So Houston would get our 7th pick and our decreased odds to move up but the security of knowing they are getting a top 7-10 pick at worst, and we would be getting the increased odds of moving up but if it didn't happen would end up with Miami's pick(through OKC) which is probably around 17th. I don't believe either team would do this trade in reality because the downside risk is too great, but it is interesting to consider.

In the worst case scenerio, we'd be trading the number 1 pick for the 17th pick. I don't believe any real life gm would make take that chance, however slim. However our chance at top 4 would be going up from 32% to 51% and our chances at Cade would nearly double from 7.5 to 14%. Are those increased odds worth the potential drop all the way to 17th?
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Dan G.
