Yes, his contract is up and he is an RFA. The max we can sign him to is 25% of the cap. Let's hope for a OG type of deal at this stage.

Trent has been such a fun guy to watch as he just brings positive energy -- of course it goes overboard when he is scoring like that. Same with guys like Yuta and Bembry. Those guys just cut and make some smart hustle plays. Gillespie seems in that mold, but he is a rock solid bruiser in the post and on the high screens. I hope my name for him sticks: Sheddie Freddie.

The reason I mention positivity is that despite an odd year with everything against Toronto, this is a really good ending with some hope. Even Malachi looks like he is finally settling in and playing well.

I have no idea what becomes of this team when Kyle, FVV, Siakam and Birch are all playing, but we now know there is depth. Hopefully waiving Baynes comes next.

Can't give him OGs contract or we may as well have kept Norm.

Well you can’t let him walk either or that trade turns into a disaster. We pretty much have to re-sign him and the way Trent talks in interviews its as if he knows he’s going to be here next season.

Can't overpay either unless we expect to unload him in a sign and trade.

No idea what their cap situation is, but someone mentioned in the General Board that Pelicans should make a run at stealing GTJ. Imagine if they get rid of Bledsoe and GTJ slots in with Lonzo, Ingram, Zion, and Adams/Hayes moving forward? Scary core that’ll be a problem for years to come. GTJ’s perimeter shooting fits in way better for them than what Bledsoe gives them.

He's an RFA. If Raps want him, they got him.

Been impressed with GTJ. He seems like a prototypical scoring guard that we’ve sorely missed. However would like to see him develop his ball handling and inside game a little more. Right now he’s strictly a shooter. If he can mix it up a bit more he can easily be an All-Star in the future.

Tanking is hard.
I don't want to tank anymore.

Meanwhile, Wizards, OKC (lol), Kings and Pistons all lose. Bad, bad day for the tank. Masai must be tearing Bobby's hair out. It's clear what the plan is. But WTF ya gonna do?

But if he had a normal 18-22, we beat the Bulls. Esp. if OG also shot a little better from 3

Love the optimism. Long as it's Klay Thompson and not Clay Thompson.

I love Norm, he is a top 3 all time favorite Rap for me.

This trade sucked, but GTJ is balling out and I can understand why it was made.

If Lowry walks--- Bring Norm back for his 20--22mil and sign GTJ for his 20mil. We can play wild small ball with FVV, Norm, GTJ, OG, Pascal --- and can also bring Norm off the bench in situations as a super nova scorer if we can find a half decent big.

People underestimate just how bad a FVV-Siakam (double black hole) offence really is.

FVV is a SG in a PG body

he fits a lot better along a playmaking SG

i agree....u can't have two borderline flawed starters competing to be a starter (see Jose vs Calderon)

Senior coming off the bench would be tremendous. His scoring and defense would be accentuated much better.
