His 10 day contract should be up tomorrow. Hoping we keep him for the rest of the year as he's been thrown into the lion's den of games and emerged as an NBA player.

Easily our best 10 day scrap heap signing since Alan Anderson.

Sign him to a 2nd 10-day. Keep him hungry.

Alize is pretty much RHJ 2.0 so too undersized and behind Siakam, Boucher, Yuta and even Stanley at PF. Gillespie has the size and wingspan to legit cover the C position and render Baynes unnecessary.

I believe that Nurse has gotten approval to give Baynes the Horford protocol and to utilize/evaluate Gillespie and Birch for next season.

I hope they resign him to a multi year minimum. He's ahead of many drafted players in development that are even older than him. I think he can develop a respectable jumper eventually.

Agreed about Alize. We need size and while he is a decent player, he fits better on the nets

SIgn him.
We need a presence in the middle.
Instead of getting out-rebounded every game.
Instead of 50 3-point attempts per game.

Sign him up! Kid has a great attitude and has fit in really well thus far. Does a lot of the things we were missing. Hopefully he can continue to develop in our system.

So cool to see how Gillespie has won the hearts and minds of this Raptor's base. I was always struck by his development curve at each level and you can see how he grows each game.

This guy was meant to be an NBA guy and getting to know his on-court warrior demeanor and his engaging off-court personality, he just seems like a high level person that Toronto typically keeps.

I legit love the rotation of Birch and Gillespie. They make the team less help orientated because they are so strong at the rim. Need to see the impact over the next ten games if they keep Gillespie.

Read Blake's article on FG in the Athletic (I think the link is there in the tweet). It will make you think Freddie can potentially become the next Hakeem Olajuwon.

Point being, he's had so little experience actually playing basketball, it's impossible to put any limits on his future growth. Maybe he can be a great shooter. Who knows? All we do know is that he's smart and hardworking. That's a good combo to build on.

I hope we sign him for this year or even long term, but not sure what impact would that be for our cap.
I assume he will take our cap hold even if we sign him for the rest of the season.

Freddie is kind of like the New Amir Johnson.

Man really hope we get to sign him for next season, him and Birch have helped solidify our center requirement. We could run with them and tweak as needed for our bench.

Our strategy of signing guys with limited basketball experience is paying off. Boucher, Siakam, and now Freddie all started really late
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Let Birch shoot 10,000 3's in the offseason and see what he's got. Baynes' form looks atrocious with the staggered legs and follow-through. I guess his previous success just wasn't sustainable with his form. Baynes needs to revamp that if he's to get a min contract next season. The Celtics should sign him for the min.
