I think he's leaving, but regardless, the man is a legend!

he already won us the chip. what more could he do in Toronto? maybe he can stay and try to win no.2 but is that going to be any better than the first one? can Toronto become dynasty franchise like the Lakers or the Celtics? most likely not. he probably maxed out on what he could in TO already
Riley, Buford, Ainge already won a championship, why do they stay?

Is it really as simple as just comparing 4 different human beings? Who really knows WHY Ainge stays in Boston? Maybe it's nostalgic since he started his playing career there. Maybe it's something else?

None of us have any idea what makes them tick. Masai is a different dude.

He hasn’t resigned because he’s chosen not to resign. Bobby and Nurse have inked new deals. MLSE undoubtedly has tried to keep him. Masai has all the leverage in the world so this isn’t about him trying to get more money. I think he is gone and I can’t blame him. Nothing left for him to achieve with us and has written his name in the stars.

Webster likely made the call on deals at the deadline. Masai is likely going to Seattle with Tim to try and return bb there or possibly into politics. I would say the chance of him being with Raptors in 2022 is less than 5 %.

Going to Seattle to do what? Is Seattle getting NBA team this summer?

No, they aren't. Adam Silver talked about theoretical expansion fees a few months ago and now everyone is assuming it's inevitable the league expands to 32 teams. The problem is the number he floated was north of $2.5B per team which is insane in a league where revenues have been decimated by COVID and even before that no team has sold for that price (previous high is $2.35B for the Brooklyn Nets). The owner of the Timberwolves can't get remotely close to that for his team (he is trying to sell and hasn't found a buyer yet) and the Utah Jazz recently sold for $1.66B, again nowhere near the $2.5B+ Silver is pitching for expansion fees. By Forbes' 2021 rankings, there are only 8 teams in the league valued at that price or higher.

Also, Adam Silver is on record saying that the earliest the league would even consider looking into this is the end of the 2021-2022 season, so there is zero chance of a team in Seattle next season, earliest would be 2022-2023 even if there is someone willing to part with that kind of cash for an NBA team in Seattle.
