Well deserved, and a solid depth signing.
I believe in Masai.

He deserved the deal just based on his singing performance.

Does this mean that Shams still has a snitch working for him in the locker room?

Hes a nice 3rd center on a good team that can maybe develop into a primary backup. Also think Birch is a good backup too. Now let's add a starting center in the offseason and we're good at that position.

Him and Birch platoon the 5 next season and we blow the bank on Kyle and then Masai leaves...

Is that like the worst case scenario ?

I guess this is a min contract to secure him.

I guess Birch is getting a 1 year or 2 year bigger (up to $4 million) deal mid-way through free agency, after the cap space is used or not. Maybe at worst he'll get the BAE?

Excellent 3rd string C whenever we sign or trade for a starting one this off-season and Khem will be one of the best backups in the league. Shut down some of the starters after this stretch, pray for a successful draft and we'll seriously come back next season better than arguably we were the season before this one.

To think just the other day we had Bebe f'ing things up lol

awesome news. we found our future backup c. still young and developable. personality fits perfectly. Good scouting as usual by this front office.

Great move by the Raps. If you are Baynes they must already be looking at other options. I suspect Baynes has enough loot to finish his career in the Aussie league and play nationally for Strahlya. Has not been in any pressers...

Baynes so far has accumulated 38 mil in gross earnings. Masai gave him a near 30 per cent raise to come here over his earning last season.

Talk about double your money. Freddy and Khem for less than the price of Baynes. The tandem back-ups.

This makes me think that's our C rotation for next season. Gill/Birch. We are not getting another C via FA this summer.

He's got the physical tools to be very very good. So far he's only had 2 years of Tier 1 NCAA basketball and a very short G-league season. What he's shown in his time with the Raptors has come from physical tools. Given time in our development system, his room for growth is really large. Plus he's whip-smart, has a Raptor type personality and is eager to learn and improve. Excited for his future possibilities.

Not sold on him, but it's a easy decision to give a non guaranteed contract for next season.
