To be fair almost all teams lost players due to injury or covid this season. I do not even want this guy back with the Raptors to be honest. Where there is smoke there is fire.

You must also missed the reports where Warren welcomed Nate to Indiana upon learning of the hire and that Warren tweeted out that the media not use him for their false narratives.

Don't believe everything what the "reports" say, especially considering Nate was with the team for 2 years and the Raptors players showed their support for him.

I did miss what Warren said, but to be fair what else was he suppose to say publicly. It seems apparent that the man is on some power trip though. If he gets fired after one season then maybe that would put his ego is check. He also played an up tempo style of basketball with a gritty team ala the Grizzles, but more talented which made zero sense. I think the man is out of his depth. Get that ego in check and not treat people around you like **** and I imagine he would be a good assistant coach sure. I suppose.

Kevin Pritchard point the index finger at Nate, whilst at the same time 3 are pointing right back at Kevin himself.

So most likely, Nate is a bit of a dick but the players just have no desire to make it work.

He was fine as an assistant coach. That doesn't tell you anything about how he'll be as a HC.

I'm not sure how real those reports are...

I don't doubt that Nate may well be a difficult guy to work with as a head coach...but what was published about him a couple of weeks ago screams hit piece by the front office to push him out...the reasons why I cannot figure out...but nonetheless it's totally unprofessional.

I don't know for sure how TJ reacted to Nate's hiring...and TJ could have said nothing but instead tweeted this out when Nate was hired:

This doesn't seem like a dude that knew Nate was going to be bad news at the start. Like I said...saying nothing at the time of the hiring would have been the way to handle things if TJ really didn't like Nate.

If you hired the wrong guy to coach, you fire the guy that hired him.

They were a 4th seed last year. Hired a new coach who finished 10th, while firing the coach that was let go and finished 4th with the Hawks.

A nobody with an ego is why nate may be asked to go away.

They finished 4th last season with a fully healthy squad and a TJ Warren who went thermonuclear in the bubble. It's different when you are missing 2/5 of your starting line-up for majority of the season.

Dude got canned ‘for losing the locker room’. Bring em home Masai.

Pacers a bunch of loser mentality players anyway who can’t accept constructive criticism.

Dude was sabotaged by the media with unnamed sources which is likely Pacers top management politics.

It was classic character assassination so that firing is easier.

Loved him as an assistant, offensively minded and just a smart guy. We'd be lucky to have him back and i am sure the time away made him even more well rounded.

That's fine, but don't throw the dude's reputation in the mud.
How the Pacers handled this situation (and how they handled Nate McMillan) is pathetic.

The writing is on the wall when Oshae Brissett started playing heavy minutes for them.

If Raptors experience is that accusations are unfounded, no reason not to bring him back unless there's competition with another team to hiring him as assistant.

I'd love to have him back, but might be a sensitive thing to navigate. There's always a succession plan, and I'm sure there are expectations among the remaining staff and the sharp minds at the 905 (especially Patrick Mutombo) who have an eye on that lead assistant chair and the path to it.

Hopefully they can work it out, Nurse is clearly comfortable with Nate and they work great together.
