Who do you draft outside of Top 6?
Problem is this years draft has a fairly consensus Top 6 and Toronto will more than likely pick 7th. Assuming Toronto does not move up or trade the pick who does Toronto select in the draft?
Top 6
Cunningham
Mobley
Suggs
Green
Kuminga
Barnes

Re: Who do you draft outside of Top 6?
I think 8 is the most likely scenario. At least one team usually moves up. To answer your question I have no clue who I want us to pick right now. I've been waiting to see where we'd fall before I got too excited about any of the prospects. Now it's on

Kuminga

Raptors are currently most likely to pick 8th (at 34.1%). Here are the odds breakdown: http://www.tankathon.com/pick_odds
Close to 1/3 chance of picking in the top 4 as well if we stay in our current position.

Way too early for polls like this right now, let's wait till lottery at least.
Also why outside top 6? We have a better shot of getting 8th after lottery vs 7th.

Moses Moody would be a safe but still exciting pick here.
Jalen Johnson and Keon Johnson might have more upside and would be good picks if the Raps org feels like they can develop them correctly.

Barnes is no lock for the top 6. Kuminga could also fall depending on who has #5. It looks like a big 4 right now.
That being said, if the draft falls like that, I take Moody.

As soon as the 8th team slots into 8th that 50 percent chance of us falling back a spot becomes 0 percent. Can't really look at it like that.
As long as none of the teams behind us jump into the top 4, we are looking pretty solid.

Sure but in a hypothetical discussion, why not discuss the most likely scenario of raps getting 8.

Re: Who do you draft outside of Top 6?
Every year there's a "consensus top x" and every year players within that consensus flop while players outside of it (sometimes way outside) flourish. It's a meaningless talking point.

Because its not really that likely. One of those teams behind us is gonna have to hit on a less than 5 percent chance to move up. If that happens then we are likely moving back. It's not as simple as "our best odds are to move back a slot".
The most likely outcome is for everyone to stay where they are slotted, but that is very unlikely. Someone is moving up, and its gonna be us.

I like Jalen Johnson biggest boom bust potential but at least I can sorta see him maybe becoming a borderline allstar one day if things go right for him mentally and developmental wise.

Re: Who do you draft outside of Top 6?
Moody is literally another GTJr. 3 and D
Barnes is a good defender and potential for playmaking but terrible on offence
Keon is a good defender and good athleticism but terrible on offence
Jalen Johnson has the tools to be good but not sure about his mental makeup.
TLDR: I hope we get in the top 4/5

Lol at you thinking that GT Jr. plays D. Moody is already a better defender but I still don't rly want him to be the pick.
I like Giddey an Sengun the most rn and think they're currently underrated and should be in the mix for #6 overall each.

Re: Who do you draft outside of Top 6?
I'm pretty confident we can come away with a potentially special player if we stay in the top 8. Besides the top 5 guys projected, Keon Johnson, Josh Giddey and Franz Wagner all possess intriguing potential. On top of them, I'm sure the vaunted Raps scouting team has another half dozen names in mind that can be as good as or better than all of them.
We're sitting pretty.

Go do the math, it's more than 48% we move back from 7 on lottery day, not 5%, maybe in the old lottery days, but they have flattened the odds since.
in other words, 31.9% we move top 4
19.8% we stay at 7
and 48.3% chance we move down.

He's very underrated off the dribble and drawing contact.
