The thing I like the most about this Scottie footage is he took over the game doing stuff that he can do on an off night. Nothing he does here is him being on fire shooting wise or anything to do with having a lucky game. This is just straight up effort and dominance. You can see it in everyone elses' faces. He dominated that. This guy is legit.

I know its just a pick up game but man, Barnes just turned 20 and he already looks bigger and stronger than most of these nba players. His jump shot may still be a work in progress but he will still be able to score through cuts and in the post.

Those guys are just surprised anyone's even trying on defense.

Thank you so much for drafting Barnes. I was afraid they would pick Suggs for a bit there. Barnes is one of the very best defensive prospects the NBA has ever seen and legitimately has the potential to be the one of the best defensive players the NBA has seen. I mean most of the guys like Bruce Bowen or more modern speaking Matisse Thybulle, these guys are specialists. But when you have a guy like Scottie who is a defensive playmaker that wins you possessions on that end and can literally play any position. Thats just special.

First time in a while I've heard a guy can defend 1 through 4 and actually believed it.

Definitely. I've been happy. I think people are missing out on the fact that Barnes is not some raw guy, or some project with length. He's an impact player from day one and will immediately help the team in many ways.

Scottie has the ability to impact the play on both ends, his second jump, big body, big hands, ability to pass

The extended highlights video of that run with Gary Trent and sexton is like mostly Scottie dunk alley oop rebound highlights dudes gonna be a monster

Barnes will excel under Nurse's guidance.

Will be fun to watch the bench mob this year

Flynn
Dragic
Barnes
Boucher
Achiuwa

Then when we deal Dragic, Barnes can play more guard with Flynn and we bring Svi in

3 things are certain for Scottie Barnes:

3) He will lead the lead the league in techs at some point in his career.

is it me, or do some of those guys *cough* Drummond, etc *cough* look "concerned" [scared ] when Scottie's running/coming at them for the block? what a reputation!

He's not a hot-head, but definitely got some JO Swag in him, can see him getting into scuffles.

Yes and it looks like his teammates really enjoy playing with him. He’s going to be one of the leaders of our team sooner rather than later.

He really seemed to inspire Sexton, GTJ and Buddy to play defense which says a lot!
I know people were thinking of a raw prospect like Bruno who had 0 NBA ready skills and freaked out for this pick. But, Scottie will be one of our 4 best defenders from day 1 and he'll be as good of a rim runner as Pascal was in his rookie season. If he can hit 25-30% from three and not be afraid to attack the rim, it'll be hard for Nurse to keep him on the bench.
