I've said it before we're going to be rebuilding this year. Will be a 32-39 win team and back in the lottery and get another good young player to build with.

Aka Suggs will be better than Barnes in the short term but please don't judge them now even though they're the same age practically.

Joking, kind of lol.

Nick Nurse also did a podcast today where he said Scottie Barnes will play a lot. Multiple positions , get lots of reps

I do think that if the team is in the play-in they will opt for tanking again.

It's probably more of retool but he's setting expectations lower. We've been spoiled with year after year success, I think he's saying we will play our young players but try to be competitive.

Yall ready? It'll be a 2.5 year rebuild with lots of excitement... just mentally preparing for a playoff appearance is likely 2024

So that's why Masai cleaned house, getting rid of all of Nick's favourite players (McCaw, Stanley, Bembry).

Exactly. Basically enjoy watching banton, precious, scottie, etc, develop. Don't worry about our record.

It is a retool.
Both GTJr and OG have not reached their full potential and Barnes is only 20 years old thus naturally there will be growing pains.
Masai is taking some of the pressure away with that "growing pain"

A team that was 4th seed playing all road games led by NBA Finals Champs in FVV and Siakam cannot turn around and start losing games once they are back in their arena.

At their age and with their resume, unless you trade both for "prospects", this cannot be a rebuilding. You should fully expect a playoff-run as long as Nurse, FVV, OG and Siakam are around.

I love the moves that this team didn't make, I like what's going on.

He did it with Casey too, Letting guys like chuck Hayes, Luis scola, Lou thrilliams walk offseason so Casey stopped starting them/over playing vets

I think this is as close to an admission of tanking that we'll get from management.

When was the last GM of a young team to say they were going to win a lot. This is just managing expectations for what will be a mediocre team, but they'll likely win in the low 40s just based on coaching and their core.

Agreed 100%. And honestly, I'm not too upset.

Win a title
Game 7 of the 2nd round
4th pick overall

Would it have been nice to repeat? Sure. But the next generation of this team has started and we're in a decent place considering we won a title 2 years ago.
