Nothing says a Raptors RGM summer time like a man proclaiming hes almost cumming over 2 possessions on defense in a scrimmage, from the latest prospect/rookie.

If ur not gonna get hyped over this short clip, then maybe the Raptors aren't the team for you.
Imagine being so miserable that you tear down others for being excited over a top prospect showing defensive potential.

He looks really good on defense man. Fun to watch.
There is a longer video of this scrimmage on youtube where it shows even more highlights of him.

Scottie is a big boy...
Also lol at Drummond being there and just going through the motions like an old geezer. Scottie doesn't look undersized next to him either.
GTJ 3:18 "On who? ON WHO??" made me lol.

His defense is light years ahead of his offense though. Wish he were more natural there

I think he still needs to work on shuffling his feet a bit more on D. Looks like he gets his feet cross up sometimes which isn't great. Tends to hop a bit too at times.
Offensively, it'll be a work in progress as we all know, but he wasn't going to be doing much on-ball work with all those guards there.

This ^
Drummond is a big dude so you'd expect Scottie to look tiny next him. Based on Scotties frame/build, he wasn't entirely outmatched by size.

Just like kawhi out of sd state
If they were slightly more natural or better offensively in college they would have been #1 picks
Kyrie, Derrick Williams and enes were top picks maybe kyrie is still picked 1st but he only played like a handful of games there were health and other questions around him

Kawhi could hit pull-up shots in high school and college. It wasn’t like he didn’t take any jump shots and relied on dunks. His jump shot needed to be worked on though and the Spurs did do that and made him change his form.

Kawhi was still a very raw offensive player. During his college career he shot 44% from the field and 25% from 3 which are worse numbers than Scottie.
Kawhi had an unreal trajectory so it's crazy to compare any prospect to him. He deserves loads of credit for turning himself into the player he is today. His overall offensive improvement from year to year has been outstanding. But he certainly didn't start out with many of the skills he possesses today.
Barnes is unlikely to ever reach Kawhi's level, but like Kawhi, he needs to improve each skill over time. Given that his work ethic and drive appears to being similar to Kawhi's, it's possible to see some big improvements from Scottie over the course of his rookie deal.

The bar's so low for success, people love to compare him to Simmons. Think of it this way, Simmons is 5 for 34 from three. That's a career .147 shooter from deep.
If Scottie puts up anywhere near the 14/7/7...it's going to be with better numbers than Simmons from deep. Those numbers aren't even that unachievable for him. Like, those could be near his first year numbers.
