Im glad he went on here and cleared the air on many things. Hoping for a nice season from him. Gets too much flack over his poor bubble play. Time for a great season with being back in Toronto!

That's my all-star!

Go on Siakam, show em why you're the most underrated & underappreciated players in the league.

Nice to hear his shoulder is coming along well.

I still don't understand why some don't give him the benefit of the doubt on a lost season. Sounds like he had COVID pretty bad.

He sounded positive about how his rehab is progressing but did mention not being able to do push ups yet.

If he breaks out again after how underrated he’s gotten, could he realistically win Mip again? Would be wild

In 2020 it had a lot to do with expectations. In the beginning of the season, statistically it looked like he had hit another level. A level that was bound for superstardom. We all know how that ended as he progressively got worse as time went by.

Fast forward to this past season, fresh on the mind the blunders from the previous season. He became less efficient and his defense weakened. A 30,000,000 per year player is expected to play better even with the troubles he faced. He is no longer rated as a prospect would be and his salary and usage reflects this. Prospects get the benefit of the doubt due to upside. Growing pains is a part of their development. On the flipside a 30,000,0000 a year player is supposed to already be there!

I hope he turns it around... The criticism is warranted, let's just hope it's not a long term reality of the type of player he is.

Some criticism is warranted, but not the ridiculous amount that Siakam has been receiving for the last 12+ months. He's been a 22/7/4 player with top 5 defence at his position the last two seasons. I don't know what more people expect aside from improved efficiency (which is largely because his three-point shot disappeared for the last ~12 months) and a bit more playmaking. He already does so many things at a high level on both ends of the floor that seemingly goes unnoticed.

Sounds like he’ll miss 20 games or so. Glad he’s feeling better though.

Pascal took it personally on himself and on behalf of Toronto and Canada.

Hold onto your butts.

At least it isn't an ACL or Quad. Banton, Ish, Barnes, Boucher will cover for him nicely I predict. They should not rush him back.if they could play 500 or slightly sub 500 without Paskal that's good for development if nothing else. We have Svi as well. If they are over 500 at Christmas hmmmmm that gets interesting. People need to throw Bubble and Tampa comparisons in the garbage. That's essentially 1.5 years of a labour stoppage.

I think not starting the season may be a good thing. He can ease his way into the lineup without the pressure of being the guy. He will be the healthiest he has been in a long time as well. With FVV, OG, GTJ, Dragic, and Boucher who can handle the bulk of the scoring while he is gone. I hope he understands where he can fit in and be more efficient. Another thing I am looking closely at is how he becomes the leader of the team along with FVV. He will be our best player with the most individual accomplishments, and longest tenured Raptor. This season is on the shoulders of Nurse, Siakam, FVV, and OG. Everyone one else will follow. Lets go Raptors.
