Should we rescue JV from the Pels?

Post#1 » by ImaBeatDatAzz » Sun Nov 14, 2021 3:17 pm

We could REALLY use him right now, like desperately. would be a nice return. Also the man is balling, averaging 20 points. Who can we give pels to do it

Bandaid fix, at best. Just takes us further into treadmill territory.

We need a floor spacing 3+D centre, so patience. The rebuild will take time.

Unless is Dragic straight up. Nah
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Pelicans are not just going to trade Jonas to us for scraps.

Another guy to take the ball away from Barnes and plays in the same space to take away his rebounds. Maybe Barnes assists will go up.

I don't want to be mean but this is what I can a REACTIONARY TRADE!

Lose to Pistons, Raptors are 9th, 9-9 record so lets panic and make early trade for player that's going to help short term but do damage long term?

Because only way Raptors get Val if we trade a player of value.

I'm not trading valuable piece for Val, SORRY NOT DOING IT AND I LOVE VAL BUT NOOOOO!

Love JV but no, he’s not the center we need beside Barnes.

We need to somehow emulate what the Bucks did with Giannis. 4 outside 1 in type of line up.

Getting JV so that Fred can play 40 minutes of PnR with him as everyone else watches is the opposite of what we're trying to accomplish here.

This board needs to stop living in the past. JV doesn’t guard anyone and it’s why he got traded.

Can he even be traded? JV just recently signed an extension.

Speaking of our former centers, I think Poeltl would be a much better fit.

All star
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Indeed, they just extended JV.
Not sure if this is asset management, but I don't think they are interested in trading him at the moment.

And I think Hayes fits our timeline better.

I like JV but this team isn’t playing that style of basketball anymore. If we’re still aiming for the playoffs by the trade deadline olynyk would be a better player to go after.
