Oh man, this is so sad. He was an OG. Ive enjoyed reading his posts since I first started coming here more than a decade ago. 
. He's someone I looked up to on here. Thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones. He had gone through a tough time with close family/relatives passing away recently too. If there's a gofundme, or anything of this sort, please let us know. RIP Ted .

This is sad, sad news.
Shout out to everyone who remembers Teddd, Mayor Tommy and Igor, among others, from the newsgroup days. Crazy how time flies. Life is precious guys, let's value every day and treat each other kindly.

He knew basketball better than nearly anyone.
In my early years as a Raps fan and a member of RealGM he was one of those guys who would explain to me in great detail why my interest in a guy in Ha Seung-jin (or whatever scrub I was fascinated with) was misplaced.
It caused me to look at stats, highlights, or whatever information I could get so I could come back and smash him with my new found knowledge.
I rarely if ever did, but did it ever make more of a fan of the game and for that I will always be grateful.
For a guy who opted to be "The_Hater" he was always kind (all be it direct) in his handling of me as a youngin' and that was always appreciated.
There is a note on his profile from Schad that simply states:
"If you're thinking of giving him a warning for calling out another poster, just maybe consider that he's almost definitely right."
That is the best way to sum up Ted's knowledge and passion for the game.
He will be greatly missed.

Wait, he was Teddd - I remember him from there as well then. The Raps usenet guys were way out in front on quantitative analysis of the game.

We got into some silly arguments on here during the BC years, but I always respected him as a poster.
This **** sucks. I wish the Jays could have squeezed into the playoffs this year for him.

RIP. Pretty sure he went under a different user name when I first joined more than 15 years ago … always enjoyed his takes and place in our conversation. An institution for sure. Sad news indeed.

Had to log in. Never knew much about this dude except when I saw his username I definitely knew I was going to enjoy the post. Always enjoyed watching him concisely wallop people with his posting style and sound knowledge back when I was posting 20+ times a day on my initial account. And to this day the rare times I come back on here he is one of the few posters I still make sure to pay attention to.

They went by teddd in the early years until a Username Change in 2006.
Some Moderators pushed him as a potential Moderator Candidate but they had no interest.
The_Hater loved to debate as well and it got him some other marks on their file but he was very liked around here.
It is so sad to hear of the The_Hater's passing and we will miss him although I have a feeling they will be reading discussion on our Forums like he has the past 20 years.
In his honor, we will be having a contest on The Forums to give him a Special Rank that will be his profile forever.
