It sounds like people are opening their eyes and are fed up with the BS.

What can be done to stop this tyranny will be interesting

Didn’t they also admit today that approximately 50% of the hospitalization Covid cases being counted were not actually in hospital for Covid but for something unrelated?

The pandemic has changed. Omicron is gonna get around and for the vast majority it will likely be nothing more than a natural booster shot. Punishing the sports arenas while also lessening quarantine to 5 days and apparently lessening testing going forward is strange to say the least.

Source? Who is "they"? Are these "they"...are they the same people Donald Trump is always referencing when he blatantly lying?

This was from Ontario’s chief medical officer today, and exactly why they are going to be asking hospitals to separate hospitalized due to covid from hospitalized with Covid going forward

But, sure, keep comparing everyone who posts something you disagree with Trump while ironically not taking two minutes to look it up yourself before blindly refuting it

I'm questioning the source. When someone posts "people say"...before something they are about to say without outright referencing it...(and it happens around these forums and throughout social media by people with no intention except to mislead)...then it is fair to question it.

Until a source is presented...I'm gonna be skeptical.

It looks like there will be fans allowed but at the discretion of MLSE, they will probably give it away to front line workers, partners, family of players, etc.

LOL.
Screw the fans who have complied with the rules and have paid for the overpriced tickets.

Just move the team to Tampa already. The way Canada and its officials have handled this pandemic is utterly pathetic and are continuously screwing over its citizens.

I don’t think they can ???

My guess, they refund/take back all tickets and then just re-sell the 1000 available.

So dumb. So, so dumb.
How do they even come up with this arbitrary number crap. Pulling numbers out of their ass.

TRik wrote:Man some of you are hard to please. 24 people died of Covid in Ontario yesterday. Again, those are real people dying and not just stats. This isn’t about denying people a chance to see the Raptors play in person, it’s about avoiding a high ICU rate and saving lives.

I appreciate many of you have zero idea how healthcare works, or how to run a hospital, but in Ontario there are now 726 people in hospital with Covid and 190 in ICU. ICU isn’t a joke. That’s not sustainable. Without reducing hospital admission rates for Covid, more people will die not just from Covid but from other conditions because hospitals will be over capacity.

But yeah…only 1000 people can attend Raptors games for a bit.

I think it's less about that and more about how arbitrary these decisions are. Why 1000? Why is that the cutoff? Why is the government delaying return to school by TWO whole days? Like, what is the expected result here?

No. This isnt people "opening their eyes" or now seeing that its a "plandemic" or finally realizing that being anti vax was always the way to go. U can go back to ur little corner lol.

This is more about wondering how the Ontario government has been caught with their pants down, as the saying goes, and being unprepared for this, knowing full well that in the cold months brings a new wave, this is the 2nd year etc etc. How r we still so unprepared in the icu's and elsewhere? Thats the conversation going on. Not ur fox news anti vax bs.

Only 1,000 fans allowed for Leafs, Raptors games at Scotiabank Arena | The Star

The Leafs and Raptors — and every other sports team in Ontario — saw their capacity limit slashed starting Friday. The provincial government said the new restrictions were necessary to battle the highly contagious Omicron variant and “to reduce opportunities for close contact.”

To that end, teams — and large entertainment venues — can play to audiences no larger than 1,000. The Leafs and Raptors may, in fact, play to near-empty houses.

Raptors subscribers have had their tickets cancelled for the next three weeks, starting with Friday night’s visit by the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Leafs, meanwhile, are telling their 16,000 season subscribers that their tickets for the next three games are cancelled, and the only people allowed into the rink are those mandated by the NHL collective agreement. Players and team executives have access to a pool of tickets — about 700, in the Leafs’ case — that can be given to family and friends.

MLSE spokesperson Dave Haggith said because capacity limits are temporary, there was no fair way to distribute a handful of tickets to only some subscribers.

“The biggest challenge is doing it as fairly as you can,” said Haggith. “For these three weeks we’ll go with almost no capacity, outside of just the basic league requirements. It’s going to be barebones.”

It’s an election year and the vocal minority is screaming top of their lungs. It’s total BS but the minority forced this on us. F’ the unvaccinated - we’d have half the number of cases in hospital if they’d get their shots, and things would probably be fine.

1,000 cases today is not the same as 1,000 a year ago as hospital risk for those vaccinated is so much lower.

Just F’ them and all this BS. Never thought I’d say this - why can’t we be more like the US!??

The US has a much higher percentage of the population that is unvaccinated...along with Republican politicians telling people to use mouthwash to prevent covid and anything it takes to cause more sickness and death in order to one day score political wins.

Nice generalization, assuming I'm not vaccinated, get my information from Fox news, etc.

It's a common theme to discredit, generalize and marginalize those who oppose your views,

If you truly believe that we're being given all the information available and there is not more going on than what's being told, then carry on.

14 nfl games Sunday, full attendance. The US has smashed their records for daily covid cases and active cases. Am I missing something? Time to go to Vegas for some vacation. They’ll even give me a free PCR to come home.

I went to listen to Dr Moore to see what he said exactly. The 50% is so far not accurate as he didn’t actually say that. It was what a hospital in Brampton has stated and Patrick Brown brought up earlier today.

What Dr Moore does say about that is that it is an issue and hospitals will now be counting hospitalizations as Covid only if they are there for covid treatment not if broken leg or some other procedure and happen to have Covid. So apparently in the next couple days the numbers should be more accurate.

I’m still watching it as he may say more. Only doing this because I do like to be accurate and may have jumped the gun based on some tweets I’d read. I am confident though that the numbers will be very promising and omicron is a good thing. We should be open full blast soon unless this government just prefers all these BS restrictions.

I suppose the only source you’ll trust is CNN or something but know this I just got my booster today, hated Trump when he was in power (admittedly less so now) just realized Biden or Trump makes no difference hypocrisy on all sides. And I think omicron will save us all. Screw restrictions and lockdowns. The sooner the better.
